Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Example embodiments of the present disclosure include a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program and a computer-implemented method for providing an interactive graphical user interface (GUI) on an interactive mirror display. Consistent with some embodiments, the method may include identifying an item based on an identifier obtained from an identification device affixed to the item and accessing in item record for the item from a product database. The method may further include generating the interactive GUI using information included in the item record and causing the interactive GUI to be presented on the interactive mirror display.

What is claimed is: 1. A system comprising: an interactive mirror display unit configured to operate in two modes of operation, in a first mode of operation, the interactive mirror display unit is configured to function as a reflective mirror surface, in a second mode of operation, the interactive mirror display unit is configured to function as a touch display surface operable to present content and receive user input while maintaining reflective qualities; and a controller communicatively coupled to the interactive mirror display unit, the controller comprising one or more processors configured to perform operations comprising: identifying an item based on an identifier obtained by a reader component from an identification device affixed to the item, the identification device including a readable medium storing the information; accessing, from an inventory system, an item record associated with the item using the identifier, the item record including an image of the item and product information describing the item; generating an interactive graphical user interface (GUI) using the image and the product information; causing the interactive GUI to be presented on the interactive mirror display unit, the causing of the interactive GUI to be presented including providing a set of computer-readable instructions to the interactive mirror display unit that causes the interactive mirror display unit to transition, in response to detecting a presence of an individual, from the first mode of operation in which the interactive mirror display unit functions as the reflective mirror surface to the second mode of operation in which the interactive mirror display unit functions as the touch display surface operable to receive user input and present the interactive GUI; determining an interest level of the individual with respect to the item, the determining of the interest level of the individual including: determining an amount of time the individual wore the item; accessing a table that includes a plurality of predefined interest levels and a time range corresponding to each predefined interest level of the plurality of predefined interest levels; identifying the predefined interest level that corresponds to the amount of time the item is worn by the individual based on the amount of time the item is worn by the individual being within the corresponding time range; and selecting the identified predefined interest level as the interest level of the individual with respect to the item; generating an offer for the individual based on the determined interest level of the individual with respect to the item; transmitting a message to a computing device using a telephone number or an email address of a user, the message including: a selectable element operable, via user selection, to add the item to an electronic shopping cart, and the offer generated based on the determined interest level of the individual with respect to the item; receiving a request to add the item to the electronic shopping cart, the request being generated in response to user selection of the selectable element; adding the item to the electronic shopping cart in response to receiving the request; and facilitating purchase of the item added to the electronic shopping cart. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise: receiving user input entered via the interactive GUI, the user input including a request for an alternative item, the alternative item differing from the item in at least one aspect; and transmitting a message to a mobile device of a sales associate, the message including the request for the alternative item. 3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the alternative item differs from the item in at least one of size or color. 4. The system of claim 2 , wherein the user input is entered using a display element presented within the interactive GUI in conjunction with a display of the image of the item. 5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise: identifying an additional item; and accessing, from the inventory system, an additional item record associated with the additional item, the additional item record including detailed product information describing the additional item; updating the interactive GUI to display the detailed product information describing the additional item in conjunction with the image and the product information describing the item. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the reader component obtains the identifier by performing operations comprising: transmitting interrogator data to the identification device affixed to the item; and receiving a response from the identification device, the response including the identifier. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the identification device is a radio frequency identification (RFID) device. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the interactive GUI includes a display of the image of the item, a product description, and a price. 9. The system of claim 1 , wherein: receiving user input entered via the touch display surface of the interactive mirror display; and updating the interactive GUI presented on the interactive mirror display responsive to receiving the user input. 10. A method comprising: identifying, using a reader component coupled to an interactive mirror display, an item based on an identifier obtained from an identification device affixed to the item, the identification device including a readable medium storing the identifier; accessing, from an inventory system, an item record associated with the item, the item record including an image of the item and product information describing the item; generating an interactive graphical user interface (GUI) using the image and product information; causing the interactive GUI to be presented to on the interactive mirror display, the causing of the interactive GUI to be presented including providing a set of computer-readable instructions to the interactive mirror display that causes the interactive mirror display to transition, in response to detecting a presence of an individual, from a first mode of operation in which the interactive mirror display functions as a reflective mirror surface to a second mode of operation in which the interactive mirror display functions as a touch display surface operable to present the interactive GUI and receive user input; determining an interest level of the individual with respect to the item, the determining of the interest level of the individual including: determining an amount of time the individual wore the item; accessing a table that includes a plurality of predefined interest levels and a time range corresponding to each predefined interest level of the plurality of predefined interest levels; identifying the predefined interest level that corresponds to the amount of time the item is worn by the individual based on the amount of time the item is worn by the individual being within the corresponding time range; and selecting the identified predefined interest level as the interest level of the individual with respect to the item; generating an offer for the individual based on the determined interest level of the individual with respect to the item; transmitting a message to a computing device using a telephone number or an email address of a user, the message including: a selectable element operable, via user selection, to add the item to an electronic shopping cart, and the offer generated based on the determined interest level of the individual with respect to the item; receiving a request to add the item to an electronic shopping cart, the request being generated in response to user selection of th
