Official abstract text for this publication.
Multiplex polymeric dye devices are provided. Aspects of the devices include a solid support, and first and second dried polymeric dye compositions distinctly positioned relative to a surface of the solid support. Aspects of the invention further include methods of making and using the devices, e.g., in analyte detection applications, as well as kits containing the devices.

What is claimed is: 1. A method of producing a reconstituted dye composition of first and second distinct conjugated polymeric dyes, the method comprising: introducing a volume of an aqueous liquid into a container having an inner surface, wherein the container comprises: a first dried composition comprising the first conjugated polymeric dye which is dried and adhered onto a first location of the inner surface; and a second dried composition comprising the second conjugated polymeric dye which is dried and adhered onto a second location of the inner surface that is separate from the first location so as to minimize dye-dye interaction of the distinct first and second conjugated polymeric dyes; to produce the reconstituted dye composition, wherein the first and second polymeric dyes of the reconstituted dye composition exhibit minimal dye-dye interaction. 2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the aqueous liquid comprises a biological sample. 3. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the biological sample comprises whole blood or a fraction thereof. 4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second locations are separated by a distance ranging from 0.1 mm to 200 mm. 5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the container comprises a third dried composition comprising a third conjugated polymeric dye which dried and adhered onto a third location of the inner surface that is separate from the first and second locations. 6. The method according to claim 5 , wherein the third dried composition further comprises a non-polymeric dye. 7. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the container is configured to hold a volume ranging from 0.1 ml to 250 ml. 8. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the container is a vial. 9. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the container is a well of a multi-well plate. 10. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the container is sealed and the method comprises removing the seal prior to positioning the volume of liquid inside of the liquid container. 11. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises assaying the reconstituted dye composition. 12. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the conjugated polymers are water soluble polymers. 13. The method according to claim 1 , wherein: the first dried composition is produced by positioning a liquid composition of the first conjugated polymeric dye at the first location and then drying the positioned liquid composition of the first conjugated polymeric dye at the first location to produce the first dried composition; and the second dried composition is produced by positioning a liquid composition of the second conjugated polymeric dye at the second location and then drying the positioned liquid composition of the second conjugated polymeric dye at the second location to produce the second dried composition.
