A cylindrical shrink label is provided with a heat-shrinkable label base material; and a joint formed by cylindrically forming the label base material so that the edges thereof overlap, and then solvent welding the inner surface of the outside edge, which is positioned on the outside of the cylinder, and the outer surface of the inside edge, which is positioned on the inside of the cylinder. A resin layer, which is soluble in a hot alkaline aqueous solution, is formed on the abovementioned inner surface and/or the abovementioned outer surface, which form the joint.

The invention claimed is: 1. A cylindrical shrink label formed by: overlapping two opposite ends of a heat-shrinkable label base material; and solvent welding the two opposite ends to each other in order to arrange the label base material in a cylindrical shape, the solvent welding comprising applying a sealing solvent including (i) a solvent component and (ii) a first hot-alkaline-solution soluble resin soluble in a hot alkaline solution, the first hot-alkaline-solution soluble resin being sandwiched between the two opposite ends. 2. The cylindrical shrink label according to claim 1 , wherein the solvent welding further comprises providing at least one resin layer on at least one of the two opposite ends, the resin layer being formed with (i) a base resin soluble in the solvent component but insoluble in the hot alkaline solution, and (ii) a second hot-alkaline-solution soluble resin soluble in the hot alkaline solution, and a resin of the label base material, the base resin of the resin layer and the first and second hot-alkaline-solution soluble resins are dissolved and mixed in the sealing solvent. 3. The cylindrical shrink label according to claim 1 , wherein an inside surface of one opposite end overlaps an outside surface of the other opposite end. 4. The cylindrical shrink label according to claim 2 , wherein a width of the resin layer in a circumferential direction of the label base material is greater than a width of a portion of the label base material where the two opposite ends overlap. 5. The cylindrical shrink label according to claim 2 , wherein the resin layer is provided on each of the two opposite ends. 6. The cylindrical shrink label according to claim 2 , wherein the resin layer is provided on only one of the two opposite ends and the sealing solvent is applied only to the end opposite of the end that the resin layer is provided on. 7. The cylindrical shrink label according to claim 2 , wherein a length of the resin layer extends from a top edge to a bottom edge of the label base material in a longitudinal direction. 8. The cylindrical shrink label according to claim 2 , wherein an inside surface of one opposite end overlaps an outside surface of the other opposite end.
