We claim: 1. A side door for a vehicle, comprising: a structure comprising a shell comprising at least two non-intersecting shell support beams positioned across a width of the shell; wherein at least one of the shell support beams comprises substantially unidirectional fiber strip, wherein the shell comprises an inner shell and an outer shell; and wherein the side door has a score of at least 4 points in a side impact test. 2. The side door of claim 1 , wherein the unidirectional fiber strip comprises greater than or equal to 50 wt. % fibers, based upon the total weight of the fibers in the fiber strip, oriented in a direction with an angle of +45° to −45° to a main axis of the fiber strip. 3. The side door of claim 1 , wherein a window frame portion of the shell comprises substantially unidirectional fiber strips positioned across one or more of an upper, a lower, a rear, and a front portion of the window frame portion. 4. The side door of claim 3 , wherein a window frame portion of the shell comprises substantially unidirectional fiber strip positioned across the upper, the lower, the rear, and the front portion of the window frame portion. 5. The side door of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the shell support beams is overmolded with fiber-reinforced polymer material. 6. The side door of claim 1 , wherein the shell further comprises ribbing positioned in a main body portion. 7. The side door of claim 6 , wherein the ribbing is positioned along the rear, bottom, and front periphery of the main body portion. 8. The side door of claim 1 , wherein the side door is free of metal structural support elements. 9. The side door of claim 1 , wherein the side door has a score of greater than or equal to 6 points in the side impact test. 10. The side door of claim 1 , further comprising a hinge integrated to the side door, wherein the hinge breaks during the side impact test that results in a door intrusion of greater than 100 mm. 11. The side door of claim 1 , wherein the side door has a score of at least 4 in a pole impact test. 12. The side door of claim 1 , wherein both the inner shell and the outer shell comprise a window frame portion. 13. A vehicle, comprising: a structural body; and a side door comprising a shell comprising at least two non-intersecting shell support beams positioned across a width of the shell, wherein at least one of the shell support beams comprises substantially unidirectional fiber strip, the shell comprising a window frame portion and a body portion; a door skin over the shell; a window movable between the window frame portion and the body portion; and a hinge; wherein the side door has a score of at least 4 points in a side impact test. 14. The vehicle of claim 13 , wherein the hinge breaks during the side impact test. 15. The vehicle of claim 13 , wherein the side door is free of metal structural support elements. 16. A side door for a vehicle, comprising: a structure comprising a shell comprising at least two non-intersecting shell support beams positioned across a width of the shell; wherein at least one of the shell support beams comprises substantially unidirectional fiber strip, wherein the shell comprise an inner shell and an outer shell; and wherein all support beams in the side door are non-intersecting. 17. The side door of claim 16 , wherein at least one of the shell support beams is overmolded with fiber-reinforced polymer material. 18. The side door of claim 12 , further comprising a window, wherein the window is movable between the window frame portion and a body portion of the shell. 19. The side door of claim 1 , wherein all support beams in the door are non-intersecting.
