We claim: 1. An assembly, comprising: a service disconnect having a handle and a service disconnect base, wherein the handle pivots and then slides relative to the base to transition the service disconnect from an unseated position to a seated position; and a position indicator moveable from a disengaged to an engaged position with the service disconnect in the seated position, the position indicator not moveable to the engaged position when the service disconnect is in the unseated position, the position indicator separate and distinct from all portions of the service disconnect, wherein a first clip and a second clip of the position indicator engage a perimeter of the handle to hold the position indicator in the engaged position, wherein the handle moves along an axis when sliding relative to the base to transition the service disconnect from the unseated position to the seated position, the first clip and the second clip are positioned adjacent opposing axial ends of the handle when the position indicator is in the engaged position such that the entire handle is axially disposed between the first clip and the second clip when the position indicator is in the engaged position. 2. An assembly, comprising: a service disconnect having a handle and a service disconnect base, wherein the handle pivots and then slides relative to the base to transition the service disconnect from an unseated position to a seated position; and a position indicator moveable from a disengaged to an engaged position with the service disconnect in the seated position, the position indicator not moveable to the engaged position when the service disconnect is in the unseated position, the position indicator separate and distinct from all portions of the service disconnect, wherein a first clip and a second clip of the position indicator engage a perimeter of the handle to hold the position indicator in the engaged position, wherein the first clip extends from a position indicator base, the first clip contacting a first surface of the service disconnect facing away from the position indicator base when the service disconnect is in the seated position and the position indicator is in the engaged position with the service disconnect, the first clip prevented from contacting the first surface by a second surface of the service disconnect facing toward the position indicator base when the service disconnect is in the unseated position. 3. The assembly of claim 2 , wherein the first surface of the service disconnect is a surface of the handle. 4. The assembly of claim 2 , including an installation tab extending from the position indicator base opposite the first clip. 5. The assembly of claim 2 , wherein the first clip extends in a direction from a first end of the position indicator base and the second clip extends in the same direction from the position indicator base at an opposing, second end when the first clip and the second clip are securing the position indicator to the service disconnect in the engaged position. 6. The assembly of claim 5 , wherein the first clip is rotatable about the second clip to move the position indicator to the engaged position. 7. The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the service disconnect is opened to electrically disconnect portions of an electric vehicle powertrain and closed to electrically connect the portions of the electric vehicle powertrain. 8. The assembly of claim 7 , wherein the service disconnect is closed and not open when in the seated position, and the service disconnect can be open or closed when in the unseated position. 9. The assembly of claim 7 , wherein a plurality of high voltage contactors of the electric vehicle powertrain are connected when the service disconnect is closed, and the plurality of high voltage contactors of the electric vehicle powertrain are disconnected when the service disconnect is open. 10. The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the service disconnect comprises a first color and the position indicator comprises a second color different than the first color. 11. The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the service disconnect is within a powertrain of an electric vehicle. 12. The assembly of claim 11 , wherein the electric vehicle is a hybrid electric vehicle. 13. The assembly of claim 7 , wherein the service disconnect can close to electrically connect the portions of the electric vehicle powertrain when the position indicator is not engaged with the service disconnect. 14. The assembly of claim 7 , wherein the position indicator can move from the disengaged position where the position indicator is disengaged with the service disconnect to the engaged position where the position indicator is engaged with the service disconnect when the service disconnect is closed and seated, and the position indicator can move from the engaged position to the disengaged position when the service disconnect is closed and seated. 15. An assembly, comprising: a position indicator moveable from a disengaged position to an engaged position with a handle of a service disconnect while the service disconnect is closed and seated, and moveable from the engaged position with the handle to the disengaged position with the handle while the service disconnect is closed and seated, wherein a plurality of clips secure the position indicator to a perimeter of the handle when in the engaged position; and the service disconnect, wherein the handle pivots and then slides to a fixed position to transition the service disconnect to a seated position, the position indicator moveable to and from the engaged position when the handle is in the fixed position, wherein the handle moves along an axis when sliding relative to the base to transition the service disconnect from the unseated position to the seated position, the first clip and the second clip are positioned adjacent opposing axial ends of the handle when the position indicator is in the engaged position such that the entire handle is axially disposed between the first clip and the second clip when the position indicator is in the engaged position. 16. The assembly of claim 15 , wherein the position indicator is separate and distinct from all portions of the service disconnect.
