A lithium ion battery includes a first substrate having a first main surface, and a lid including a conductive cover element, the lid being attached to the first main surface. A cavity is formed between the first substrate and the lid. The battery further includes an electrolyte disposed in the cavity. An anode of the battery includes a component made of a semiconductor material and is formed at the first substrate, and a cathode of the battery is formed at the lid.

What is claimed is: 1. A lithium ion battery, comprising: a first semiconductor substrate having a first main surface; a lid comprising a conductive cover element, the lid being attached to the first main surface; a cavity formed between the first semiconductor substrate and the lid; an electrolyte disposed in the cavity; an anode formed in the first semiconductor substrate; and a cathode at the lid. 2. The lithium ion battery according to claim 1 , wherein the lid is made of a conductive material to form the conductive cover element. 3. The lithium ion battery according to claim 1 , further comprising an insulating layer between the first semiconductor substrate and the lid. 4. The lithium ion battery according to claim 1 , wherein: the lid further comprises a second semiconductor substrate, the conductive cover element being attached to a first main surface of the second semiconductor substrate; a recess is defined in the second semiconductor substrate; and the second semiconductor substrate is attached to the first main surface of the first semiconductor substrate. 5. The lithium ion battery according to claim 2 , wherein the conductive cover element is a conductive foil. 6. The lithium ion battery according to claim 4 , wherein the conductive cover element is a conductive foil and a second main surface of the second semiconductor substrate is attached to the first main surface of the first semiconductor substrate. 7. The lithium ion battery according to claim 4 , wherein the recess is formed so as to uncover a second main surface of the conductive cover element. 8. An integrated circuit formed in a first semiconductor substrate having first main surface, the integrated circuit comprising a lithium ion battery further including: a lid comprising a conductive cover element, the lid being attached to the first main surface; a cavity formed between the first semiconductor substrate and the lid; an electrolyte disposed in the cavity; and an anode formed in the first semiconductor substrate; and a cathode at the lid. 9. A lithium ion battery, comprising: a first substrate having a first main surface; a lid comprising a conductive cover element, the lid being attached to the first main surface; a cavity formed between the first substrate and the lid; an electrolyte disposed in the cavity; an anode comprising a component made of silicon at the first substrate; and a cathode at the lid. 10. The lithium ion battery according to claim 9 , wherein the lid is made of a conductive material to form the conductive cover element. 11. The lithium ion battery according to claim 9 , further comprising an insulating layer between the first substrate and the lid. 12. The lithium ion battery according to claim 1 , wherein: the lid further comprises a second insulating substrate, the conductive cover element being attached to a first main surface of the second insulating substrate; a recess is defined in the second insulating substrate; and the second insulating substrate is attached to the first main surface of the first semiconductor substrate. 13. The lithium ion battery according to claim 10 , wherein the conductive cover element is a conductive foil. 14. The lithium ion battery according to claim 12 , wherein the conductive cover element is a conductive foil and a second main surface of the second insulating substrate is attached to the first main surface of the first semiconductor substrate.
