The present invention relates to compounds acting as selective inhibitors of CD40-TRAF6 interaction, their use as medicaments and their use in the treatment of (chronic) inflammatory diseases. The present invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising these compounds.

The invention claimed is: 1. A method for treating a subject having a disease selected from atherosclerosis, obesity-associated insulin resistance, obesity-associated adipose tissue inflammation, hepatosteatosis, peritonitis and sepsis, wherein said method comprises administering to a subject in need of such treatment a compound selected from the group consisting of: wherein said compound blocks CD40-TRAF6 interaction, thereby treating the said disease.
