Official abstract text for this publication.
Provided is the following magnetic carrier. The magnetic carrier maintains high developing performance even when the number of sheets to be output is large. Its charge-providing performance hardly reduces even when toner or an external additive is spent on the magnetic carrier. In addition, the magnetic carrier is strong in resistance against standing. The magnetic carrier includes a magnetic carrier core and a resinous coating layer formed on a surface of the magnetic carrier core, in which the resinous coating layer contains a resin composition and silica-alumina composite particles.

The invention claimed is: 1. A magnetic carrier, comprising: a magnetic carrier core; and a resinous coating layer formed on a surface of the magnetic carrier core, wherein the resinous coating layer contains a resin composition and silica-alumina composite particles, and wherein the silica-alumina composite particles have a dielectric dissipation factor at 1,000 Hz of 0.02 or more and 1.00 or less. 2. The magnetic carrier according to claim 1 , wherein a content of alumina in the silica-alumina composite particles is 5.0 mass % or more and 50.0 mass % or less. 3. The magnetic carrier according to claim 1 , wherein a crystallinity of alumina in the silica-alumina composite particles is 1.0% or more and 60.0% or less. 4. The magnetic carrier according to claim 1 , wherein the silica-alumina composite particles are produced by a gas phase method.
