Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A vehicle includes a chassis, a cab coupled to the chassis, a cargo body coupled to the chassis and positioned rearward of the cab, a door coupled to the cab and selectively repositionable relative to the chassis between an open position and a closed position, and a door lock assembly configured to selectively prevent movement of the door from the closed position to the open position. The door lock assembly defines a key aperture configured to receive a key. The door lock assembly is coupled to the cab, and wherein the key aperture is positioned forward of the door.

1 . A vehicle comprising: a chassis; a cab coupled to the chassis; a cargo body coupled to the chassis and positioned rearward of the cab; a door coupled to the cab and selectively repositionable relative to the chassis between an open position and a closed position; and a door lock assembly configured to selectively prevent movement of the door from the closed position to the open position, the door lock assembly defining a key aperture configured to receive a key, wherein the door lock assembly is coupled to the cab, and wherein the key aperture is positioned forward of the door. 2 . The vehicle of claim 1 , wherein the door lock assembly is coupled to a side panel of the cab, wherein the chassis extends longitudinally along a length of the vehicle, and wherein the side panel is positioned along a lateral side of the vehicle. 3 . The vehicle of claim 2 , further comprising an A-pillar positioned at a front end of the cab, wherein the side panel is positioned below the A-pillar. 4 . The vehicle of claim 1 , further comprising an A-pillar positioned at a front end of the cab, wherein the key aperture is positioned directly below the A-pillar. 5 . The vehicle of claim 1 , further comprising: a latching assembly coupled to the door and configured to selectively couple to the door lock assembly to prevent movement of the door toward the open position; and a handle coupled the latching assembly and configured to selectively disengage the latching assembly to permit movement of the door toward the open position. 6 . The vehicle of claim 5 , wherein the door lock assembly is configured to prevent the latching assembly from being disengaged when the door lock assembly is in a locked configuration to prevent movement of the door toward the open position. 7 . The vehicle of claim 6 , wherein the door is slidably coupled to the cab and configured to move longitudinally between the closed position and the open position, and wherein the latching assembly and the handle are configured to move away from the door lock assembly when the door moves from the closed position to the open position. 8 . The vehicle of claim 7 , wherein the handle is an interior handle positioned within the cab. 9 . The vehicle of claim 8 , further comprising an exterior handle coupled to the latching assembly and configured to selectively disengage the latching assembly to permit movement of the door toward the open position, wherein the exterior handle is positioned outside of the cab. 10 . A vehicle comprising: a chassis; a cab coupled to the chassis; a cargo body coupled to the chassis and positioned rearward of the cab; a door coupled to the cab and selectively repositionable relative to the chassis between an open position and a closed position; and a door lock assembly comprising: a lock body coupled to at least one of the door, the cab, or the cargo body; a core cylinder extending within the lock body; and a retaining pin coupled to the lock body and positioned to limit rotation of the core cylinder relative to the lock body, wherein the door lock assembly is configured to prevent movement of the door from the closed position to the open position when the core cylinder is in a locked configuration. 11 . The vehicle of claim 10 , wherein the door lock assembly further comprises: a sleeve received within the lock body, the sleeve defining a sleeve aperture that receives the core cylinder; and a tumbler coupled to the core cylinder and configured to engage the sleeve to limit rotation of the core cylinder when the core cylinder is in the locked configuration, wherein the retaining pin engages the sleeve to limit rotation of the sleeve relative to the lock body. 12 . The vehicle of claim 11 , wherein the sleeve defines a retaining pin aperture, and wherein the retaining pin extends radially into the retaining pin aperture. 13 . The vehicle of claim 12 , wherein the retaining pin aperture is a first retaining pin aperture, wherein the lock body defines a second retaining pin aperture, and wherein the retaining pin extends radially through the second retaining pin aperture and into the first retaining pin aperture. 14 . The vehicle of claim 13 , wherein the retaining pin has a first portion positioned within the first retaining pin aperture and a second portion positioned within the second retaining pin aperture, wherein the first portion has a first width, and wherein the second portion has a second width greater than the first width. 15 . The vehicle of claim 14 , wherein the first portion and the second portion of the retaining pin have the same thickness. 16 . The vehicle of claim 13 , wherein the lock body defines a third retaining pin aperture, and wherein the door lock assembly further comprises a second retaining pin that extends through the third retaining pin aperture and engages the sleeve. 17 . The vehicle of claim 10 , wherein the retaining pin is made from a hardened material. 18 . A vehicle comprising: a chassis; a cab coupled to the chassis; a cargo body coupled to the chassis and positioned rearward of the cab; a door coupled to the cab and selectively repositionable relative to the chassis between an open position and a closed position; and a door lock assembly configured to selectively prevent movement of the door from the closed position to the open position, the door lock assembly defining a key aperture configured to receive a key, wherein at least one of the door or the cab defines a recess, wherein the door lock assembly is coupled to the at least one of the door or the cab, and wherein the door lock assembly extends within the recess such that the key aperture is positioned within the recess. 19 . The vehicle of claim 18 , wherein the door lock assembly includes a faceplate extending within the recess, and wherein the faceplate has a domed surface that at least partially surrounds the key aperture. 20 . The vehicle of claim 19 , wherein the door lock assembly is coupled to a side panel of the cab that is positioned forward of the door, wherein the chassis extends longitudinally along a length of the vehicle, and wherein the side panel is positioned along a lateral side of the vehicle.
