The invention provides for methods for treating a hair loss disorder in a subject by administering a Janus Kinase/Signal Transducers and Activators of Transcription inhibitor.

A method of treating a hair-loss disorder in a human in need thereof comprising orally administering to the human an effective amount of a janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor having the following structure: in a pharmaceutical composition, wherein the hair-loss disorder is alopecia areata. 30 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the alopecia areata is alopecia totalis. 31 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the alopecia areata is alopecia universalis. 32 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is selected from a capsule, a tablet, a pill, and a troche. 33 . A method of treating a hair-loss disorder in a human in need thereof comprising orally administering once daily or twice daily to the human an effective amount of a janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor having the following structure: in a pharmaceutical composition, wherein the hair-loss disorder is alopecia areata. 34 . The method of claim 33 , wherein the alopecia areata is alopecia totalis. 35 . The method of claim 33 , wherein the alopecia areata is alopecia universalis. 36 . The method of claim 33 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is selected from a capsule, a tablet, a pill, and a troche. 37 . The method of claim 33 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is orally administered once daily. 38 . The method of claim 33 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is orally administered twice daily.
