Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An electrode assembly includes a hollow member having a hollow portion, an oxygen supply portion that supplies oxygen to the hollow portion, and an oxygen permeable portion that allows permeation of oxygen supplied to the hollow portion. Moreover, the electrode assembly includes: an electrode that is provided on an outside of the hollow member in the oxygen permeable portion and is composed by laminating a water-repellent layer having oxygen permeability and an electrically conductive layer on each other from the oxygen permeable portion side; and a buffer member that is provided in the hollow portion and has pressure resistance. Then, the electrode assembly is provided with air permeability from the oxygen supply portion to the oxygen permeable portion. A microbial fuel cell includes: the electrode assembly; and a negative electrode that supports microorganisms.

1 . An electrode assembly comprising: a hollow member having a hollow portion, an oxygen supply portion that supplies oxygen to the hollow portion, and an oxygen permeable portion that allows permeation of oxygen supplied to the hollow portion; an electrode that is provided on an outside of the hollow member in the oxygen permeable portion and is composed by laminating a water-repellent layer and an electrically conductive layer on each other from the oxygen permeable portion side, the water-repellent layer having oxygen permeability; and a buffer member that is provided in the hollow portion and has pressure resistance, wherein air permeability is provided from the oxygen supply portion to the oxygen permeable portion. 2 . The electrode assembly according to claim 1 , wherein ISO air permeance from the oxygen supply portion to the oxygen permeable portion is 1×10 −5 μm/Pa·s to 100 μm/Pa·s. 3 . The electrode assembly according to claim 1 , wherein compressive strength of a face on which the electrode is provided is 0.01 kgf/cm 2 to 10 kgf/cm 2 . 4 . The electrode assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the hollow member has a rectangular parallelepiped shape, and the oxygen supply portion is an opening portion provided on one face of the hollow member. 5 . The electrode assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the hollow member has a cylindrical shape, and the oxygen supply portion is an opening portion provided on one face of the hollow member. 6 . The electrode assembly according to claim 4 , wherein the buffer member includes one or two or more cylindrical members. 7 . The electrode assembly according to claim 4 , wherein the buffer member includes a plate member in an inside thereof, and a cross-sectional shape of the buffer member along a lamination direction of the hollow member and the electrode is corrugated. 8 . The electrode assembly according to claim 4 , wherein the buffer member includes a plate member in an inside thereof, and a cross-sectional shape of the buffer member along a lamination direction of the hollow member and the electrode is truss-like. 9 . The electrode assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the electrode further includes an oxygen permeable layer that is disposed between the water-repellent layer and the electrically conductive layer and has oxygen permeability. 10 . A microbial fuel cell comprising: the electrode assembly according to claim 1 ; and a negative electrode that supports microorganisms, wherein the electrode in the electrode assembly is a positive electrode. 11 . The microbial fuel cell according to claim 10 , further comprising: an ion transfer layer that is provided between the electrode in the electrode assembly and the negative electrode and has proton permeability. 12 . The microbial fuel cell according to claim 10 , wherein the oxygen supply portion in the electrode assembly is an opening portion provided on one face of the hollow member, and the electrode assembly is immersed in an electrolysis solution so that the opening portion can be exposed to outside air. 13 . A water treatment device comprising: the electrode assembly according to claim 1 ; and a negative electrode that supports microorganisms which purify a liquid to be treated, wherein the electrode in the electrode assembly is a positive electrode.
