1 . A bearing arrangement of a pinion shaft in a housing, a pinion of the pinion shaft interacting with a ring gear, the pinion shaft being mounted in a housing by way of two axial bearings and a radial bearing which is arranged between the axial bearings. 2 . The bearing arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the axial bearings are arranged on both sides of a housing wall of the housing. 3 . The bearing arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the radial bearing is arranged within a housing opening of the housing. 4 . The bearing arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , wherein at least one of the axial bearings is configured as a needle bearing. 5 . The bearing arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the radial bearing is configured as a needle bearing. 6 . The bearing arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , wherein at least one of the axial bearings is provided with a spring element which acts in the axial direction in order to compensate for thermal expansions. 7 . The bearing arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , wherein at least one axial bearing forms a structural unit with the radial bearing. 8 . The bearing arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the radial bearing is supplied with oil via an oil lubricating bore formed in the pinion shaft. 9 . The bearing arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the radial bearing is supplied with oil via an oil lubricating bore in the housing wall. 10 . The bearing arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the pinion shaft has a hollow configuration at the end which protrudes into the housing. 11 . A pinion shaft and bearing assembly rotatably supported in a housing, comprising: a pinion shaft having a pinion adapted to mesh with a ring gear; and a bearing arrangement for mounting the pinion shaft in the housing and including a first axial bearing arranged between a rear side of the pinion and a first side wall of the housing, a second axial bearing arranged between a second side wall of the housing and a thrust washer axially located on the pinion shaft via a securing ring, and a radial bearing arranged between the first and second axial bearings. 12 . The pinion shaft and bearing assembly as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the radial bearing is arranged between the pinion shaft and an opening formed in the wall of the housing. 13 . The pinion shaft and bearing assembly as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the radial bearing is a needle bearing having a first end supported on a first bearing shoulder extending from the first axial bearing and a second end supported on a second bearing shoulder extending from the second axial bearing. 14 . The pinion shaft and bearing assembly as claimed in claim 12 , wherein at least one of the first and second axial bearings is configured as a needle bearing, and wherein the radial bearing is configured as a needle bearing. 15 . The pinion shaft and bearing assembly as claimed in claim 14 , wherein the bearing assembly includes a bearing bush having a tubular portion mounted in the opening in the wall of the housing and a radial portion engaging the second side wall of the housing, wherein the radial needle bearing is disposed between the tubular portion of the bearing bush and the pinion shaft, and wherein the second axial bearing is an axial needle bearing disposed between the radial portion of the bearing bush and the thrust washer. 16 . The pinion shaft and bearing assembly as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the radial needle bearing is supplied with oil via an oil lubricating bore formed in the wall of the housing, a circumferential groove formed in the tubular portion of the bearing bush, and a radial bore communicating with the circumferential groove. 17 . The pinion shaft and bearing assembly as claimed in claim 14 , wherein a spacer ring is disposed between the pinion shaft and each of the radial needle bearings and the axial needle bearing. 18 . The pinion shaft and bearing assembly as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the radial bearing is supplied with oil via an oil lubricating bore formed in the pinion shaft. 19 . The pinion shaft and bearing assembly as claimed in claim 11 . wherein the second axial bearing is set in a notched portion of the second side wall of the housing.
