A compound selected from the group consisting of: 3,3-diethyl-5-(2-(4-(p-tolyl)piperazin-1-yl)ethyl)dihydrofuran-2(3H)-one; 3,3-diethyl-5-(2-(4-(pyridin-2-yl)piperazin-1-yl)ethyl)dihydrofuran-2(3H)-one; 3,3-diethyl-5-(2-(4-phenylpiperazin-1-yl)ethyl)dihydrofuran-2(3H)-one; 3,3-diethyl-5-(2-(4-(2-isopropylphenyl)piperazin-1-yl)ethyl)dihydrofuran-2(3H)-one; 3-(2-(4-phenylpiperazin-1-yl)ethyl)-2-oxaspiro[4.5]decan-1-one; 3-(2-(4-(2-hydroxyphenyl)piperazin-1-yl)ethyl)-2-oxaspiro[4.5]decan-1-one; 3-(2-(4-(pyridin-2-yl)piperazin-1-yl)ethyl)-2-oxaspiro[4.5]decan-1-one; 3-(2-(4-(4-chlorophenyl)piperazin-1-yl)ethyl)-2-oxaspiro[4.5]decan-1-one; 3-(2-(4-(2-isopropylphenyl)piperazin-1-yl)ethyl)-2-oxaspiro[4.4]nonan-1-one; and 3-(2-(4-(2-morpholinophenyl)piperazin-1-yl)ethyl)-2-oxaspiro[4.4]nonan-1-one; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 2 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound according to claim 1 , or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers. 3 . A method of treating a disease that involves dysregulation of the 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 7 (5-HT 7 ) in a patient in need thereof, wherein said method comprises administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of a compound according to claim 1 , or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and wherein the disease is circadian rhythm disorder, depression, schizophrenia, migraine, neuropathic pain, peripheral pain, allodynia, thermoregulation disorder, learning disorder, memory disorder, sleep disorder, anxiety, seasonal affective disorder, or bipolar disorder. 4 . A method of treating a disease that involves dysregulation of the 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 7 (5-HT 7 ) in a patient in need thereof, wherein said method comprises administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of a composition according to claim 2 , or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and wherein the disease is circadian rhythm disorder, depression, schizophrenia, migraine, neuropathic pain, peripheral pain, allodynia, thermoregulation disorder, learning disorder, memory disorder, sleep disorder, anxiety, seasonal affective disorder, or bipolar disorder. 5 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the at least one compound is administered in a composition further comprising at least one excipient.
