We claim: 1. System for controlling a mobility device comprising a processor configured for: a workflow process configured for filtering user commands based on a status of said mobility device and defining filtered commands; and a mobility device command process configured for issuing commands based on the filtered commands; wherein said mobility device is configured for responding to the commands that are configured for controlling moving said mobility device. 2. System of claim 1 wherein the mobility device command process is configured for issuing commands to the mobility device based on sensor data. 3. System of claim 2 wherein the sensor data relate to obstacles in a path of said mobility device. 4. System of claim 1 further comprising a user interface subsystem comprising: a user input device configured for receiving user commands; a user command processor configured for processing the user commands; a user output device configured for transmitting information from said user command processor to said mobility device command process. 5. System of claim 4 further comprising a data exchange port configured for exchanging data between the user interface subsystem and said mobility device command process. 6. System of claim 4 further comprising a power supply port configured for powering said user interface subsystem. 7. System of claim 4 wherein said user input device comprises a thumbwheel configured for providing movement data throughout a full rotation of the thumbwheel and thumbwheel position, wherein: said user interface subsystem is configured for retaining the thumbwheel position across a power cycle; and the thumbwheel position is associated with a user interface subsystem characteristic. 8. System of claim 1 wherein said workflow process is configured for: responding to a subflow process; providing a command from a set of allowed commands to said mobility device; and being selected based on the user commands. 9. System of claim 1 wherein said workflow process comprises one or more of: a normal workflow comprising: a speed selection, a settings selection, a seat adjustment selection, a mode selection, and combinations thereof; a power button workflow configured for being responsive to subflow process based on a status of a power button and comprising: an emergency stop, a revert to a previous button status, and combinations thereof; a stair mode workflow comprising a solo mode stair climbing, an assisted mode stair climbing, and combinations thereof; a forced power off workflow comprising insuring a power off selection and powering the mobility device off; a center of gravity fit workflow comprising calibrating the mobility device for a user; a recovery mode workflow comprising providing recovery information to the user; and a wireless workflow comprising requesting a password from the user. 10. System of claim 1 wherein said mobility device command process is configured for managing changes in operating modes of said mobility device based on a power capability.
