Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A lawncare apparatus includes a main body, multiple wheels supporting the main body, a cutting blade disposed in the main body, a motor driving the cutting blade, and an operating arm connected to the first end of the main body. The distance in the horizontal direction between the axial central line of the cylindrical gripping portion of the operating arm and the axes of the elongated handle of the main body along the length direction is less than 5 cm. Because of the structure mate relationship between the operating arm and the cylindrical gripping portion, the operator feels more comfortable during the transporting process, the volume of lawncare apparatus during transporting is reduced and the convenience of transporting is improved.

We claim: 1. A walk-behind lawnmower, comprising: a main body; a first pair of wheels and a second pair of wheels supporting the main body, the first pair of wheels being disposed at a front end of the main body, and the second pair of wheels being disposed at a rear end of the main body; a cutting blade at least partially disposed in the main body; a motor drivingly coupled to the cutting blade; a control circuit configured to control the motor; an operating arm pivotally connected to the rear end of the main body and foldable to a folded position relative to the main body, the operating arm comprising an first member and an second member, the first member being slidably coupled with the second member, and the second member being connected to the rear end of the main body; and a safety assembly configured to connect to the control circuit, wherein the safety assembly connected to the control circuit is used to prevent the motor from being started when the first member is retracted relative to the second member. 2. The walk-behind lawnmower according to claim 1 , wherein the safety assembly comprises a safety switch connected to the control circuit. 3. The walk-behind lawnmower according to claim 2 , wherein the safety switch is electrically connected to the control circuit. 4. The walk-behind lawnmower according to claim 2 , wherein the safety assembly further comprises a trigger assembly configured to selectively trigger the safety switch. 5. The walk-behind lawnmower according to claim 2 , wherein the safety switch is biased such that when the safety switch is not subject to an outer force, the safety switch is reset. 6. The walk-behind lawnmower according to claim 1 , wherein the first member is extendable relative to the second member to move between a retracted position and a safety location. 7. The walk-behind lawnmower according to claim 6 , wherein when the first member is disengaged from the safety location, the control circuit connected with the safety assembly prohibits operation of the motor. 8. The walk-behind lawnmower according to claim 7 , wherein when the first member is moved to the safety location, the control circuit connected with the safety assembly allows operation of the motor. 9. A walk-behind apparatus, comprising: a main body; a plurality of wheels supporting the main body; a functional accessory coupled to the main body; a motor drivingly coupled to the functional accessory; a control circuit configured to control the motor; an operating arm coupled to a rear end of the main body and comprising a first member and a second member, the second member being connected to the rear end of the main body, and the first member being configured to move relative to the second member between a safety location away from the main body and a position close to the main body other than the safety location; and a safety assembly configured to connect to the control circuit, wherein the safety assembly connected to the control circuit prevents the motor from operating when the first member moves to the position close to the main body other than the safety location. 10. The walk-behind apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein the safety assembly comprises a safety switch coupled to the operating arm, and the safety switch is connected to the control circuit. 11. The walk-behind apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the safety assembly further comprises a trigger assembly configured to selectively trigger the safety switch. 12. The walk-behind apparatus according to claim 10 , wherein the safety switch is biased such that when the safety switch is not subject to an outer force, the safety switch is reset. 13. The walk-behind apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein the first member is configured to extend relative to the second member to move to the safety location. 14. The walk-behind apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein when the first member is returned to the safety location, the control circuit connected with the safety assembly allows operation of the motor. 15. A walk-behind apparatus, comprising: a main body comprising a motor; and an operating device connected to a rear end of the main body, the operating device comprising a first member and a second member, the first member being movable relative to the second member, and the first member being capable of moving to a safety location relative to the second member; wherein the operating device further comprises: an operating member operable by a user; and a safety assembly coupled to at least one of the first member or the second member, wherein when the motor is in a stopped state and the first member leaves the safety location, the safety assembly prohibits starting of the motor by the operating member. 16. A walk-behind lawnmower, comprising: a main body; a first pair of wheels and a second pair of wheels supporting the main body, the first pair of wheels being disposed at a front end of the main body, and the second pair of wheels being disposed at a rear end of the main body; a cutting blade at least partially disposed in the main body; a motor drivingly coupled to the cutting blade; and an operating device connected to the rear end of the main body, the operating device comprising a first member and a second member, the first member being configured to be movable relative to the second member, and the first member being movable to a safety location relative to the second member, wherein the operating device further comprises: an operating member operable by a user, and wherein when the motor is in a stopped state and the first member leaves the safety location, a safety assembly prohibits starting of the motor by the operating member and the motor remains in the stopped state. 17. The walk-behind lawnmower according to claim 16 , wherein the safety assembly comprises a safety switch coupled to at least one of the first member or the second member. 18. The walk-behind lawnmower according to claim 17 , wherein the safety assembly further comprises a trigger assembly configured to selectively trigger the safety switch. 19. The walk-behind lawnmower according to claim 17 , wherein when the safety switch is not subject to an outer force, the safety switch is reset. 20. The walk-behind lawnmower according to claim 16 , wherein when the first member is returns to the safety location, the safety assembly allows operation of the motor.
