A method for manufacturing a rotor includes the following operations: the clamping of a workpiece in a grinding machine; the performance of one or more cylindrical grinding operations whereby a rotor shaft section is ground to the desired diameter with a cylindrical grinding disk; the performance of one more profile grinding operations whereby a rotor body is profiled with a profile grinding disk. During the manufacture of the rotor in the grinding machine, the workpiece is not undamped and the cylindrical grinding operations and the profile grinding operations are done with the same grinding machine.

The invention claimed is: 1. A method for manufacturing a screw rotor, the method comprising: performing a first clamping by clamping a workpiece within a grinding machine, the workpiece having already been partially processed to have a shape of a rotor with a first clamp; performing one or more cylindrical grinding operations on the workpiece with one or more cylindrical grinding disks, wherein the one or more cylindrical grinding operations are one or more cylindrical abrasive grinding operations and wherein the one or more cylindrical grinding disks are one or more abrasive cylindrical grinding disks; performing one or more profile grinding operations on the workpiece with one or more profile grinding disks, wherein the one or more profile grinding operations are one or more profile abrasive grinding operations and wherein the one or more profile grinding disks are one or more abrasive profile grinding disks, wherein the one or more cylindrical grinding operations and the more profile grinding operations are both performed by the grinding machine; switching by the grinding machine between the one or more cylindrical grinding operations with the one or more cylindrical grinding disks and the one or more profile grinding operations with the one or more profile grinding disks; and controlling both the one or more cylindrical grinding operations and the one or more profile grinding operations of the manufacturing of the rotor by a controller of the grinding machine. 2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the grinding machine includes a grinding spindle, and at least a first cylindrical grinding disk of the one or more cylindrical grinding disks and at least a first profile grinding disk of the one or more profile grinding disks are interchanged by being affixed and removed from the grinding spindle. 3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the grinding machine provides a first grinding spindle to which at least a first cylindrical grinding disk of the one or more cylindrical grinding disks is affixed, and the grinding machine further provides a second grinding spindle to which at least a first profile grinding disk of the one or more profile grinding disks is affixed. 4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first clamp includes a first centre point and an opposing second centre point, and the method includes maintaining by the grinding machine the workpiece between the first centre point and the second centre point during the one or more cylindrical grinding operations and the one or more profile grinding operations. 5. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising performing a second clamping by clamping the workpiece with a second clamp that clamps the workpiece at a cylindrical clamping surface at a first end of the workpiece; and providing rotational support to the workpiece during the one or more profile grinding operations by controlling rotation of the workpiece about a longitudinal axis of the workpiece during the one or more profile grinding operations. 6. The method according to claim 5 , further comprising controlling by the controller the one or more profile grinding operations to include a first profile grinding operation that includes a coarse profile grinding operation using a coarse profile grinding disk to obtain on the workpiece a coarsely ground rotor body having a coarsely finished spiral toothing, controlling by the controller the one or more profile grinding operation to include a second profile grinding operation that includes a fine profile grinding operation using a fine profile grinding disk to obtain on the workpiece a finely ground rotor body having a finely finished spiral toothing, and wherein, after both the first profile grinding operation and the second profile grinding operation have been performed, controlling by the controller the grinding machine to perform a cylindrical grinding operation that includes grinding with the one or more cylindrical grinding disks at least a portion of the cylindrical clamping surface. 7. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising controlling by the controller the one or more profile grinding operations to include a first profile grinding operation that includes a coarse profile grinding operation using a coarse profile grinding disk to obtain on the workpiece a coarsely ground rotor body having a coarsely finished spiral toothing, controlling by the controller the one or more profile grinding operation to include a second profile grinding operation that includes a fine profile grinding operation using the fine profile grinding disk to obtain on the workpiece a finely ground rotor body having a finely finished spiral toothing, and wherein, after both the first profile grinding operation and the second profile grinding operation have been performed, controlling by the controller the grinding machine to perform a cylindrical grinding operation that includes grinding with the one or more cylindrical grinding disks one or more rotor shaft sections of the workpiece. 8. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising controlling by the controller the one or more profile grinding operations to include a first profile grinding operation that includes a coarse profile grinding operation using a coarse profile grinding disk to obtain on the workpiece a coarsely ground rotor body having a coarsely finished spiral toothing, and wherein, after the first profile grinding operation is performed, controlling by the controller the grinding machine to perform a cylindrical grinding operation that includes grinding one or more rotor shaft sections or grinding an end face of the rotor body. 9. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first clamping includes at least a first centre point provided at a first end of the workpiece and a second clamp provided at an opposing second end of the workpiece, the second clamp clamping the workpiece on a cylindrical part of a shaft of the workpiece. 10. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising controlling by the controller the one or more profile grinding operations to include a first profile grinding operation that includes a coarse profile grinding operation using a coarse profile grinding disk to obtain on the workpiece a coarsely ground rotor body having a coarsely finished spiral toothing, controlling by the controller the one or more profile grinding operation to include a second profile grinding operation that includes a fine profile grinding operation using a fine profile grinding disk to obtain on the workpiece a finely ground rotor body having a finely finished spiral toothing, and controlling by the controller the grinding machine such that heat accumulated in the workpiece from the first coarse profile grinding operation, which causes dimensional changes in the workpiece, is dissipated before the second profile grinding operation. 11. A grinding machine for manufacturing a screw rotor, the grinding machine comprising: at least a first clamp configured to clamp a workpiece that has already been partially processed to have a shape of a rotor; one or more cylindrical grinding disks for performing one or more cylindrical grinding operations on the workpiece, wherein the one or more cylindrical grinding disks are one or more abrasive cylindrical grinding disks; one or more profile grinding disks for performing one or more profile grinding operations on the workpiece, wherein the one or more profile grinding disks are one or more abrasive profile grinding disks; a switching system configured to perform switching between grinding operations of the grinding machine, including switching between the one or more cylindrical grinding operations with
