This invention relates to novel (Cyano-dimethyl-methyl)-isoxazoles and -[1,3,4]thiadiazoles and their use as CB2 cannabinoid receptor agonists, pharmaceutical compositions containing the same, and their use for the treatment of CB2 receptor mediated disorders or conditions.

The invention claimed is: 1. A method of treating pain selected from the group consisting of acute pain, visceral pain, and neuropathic pain, comprising administering to a human being an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound selected from the group consisting of and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in admixture with a pharmaceutically acceptable adjuvant, diluent and/or carrier, to treat the pain. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the compound is 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pain is acute pain. 4. The method of claim 2 , wherein the pain is acute pain. 5. The method of claim 3 , wherein the acute pain is trigeminal neuralgia. 6. The method of claim 4 , wherein the acute pain is trigeminal neuralgia. 7.
