Various implant holding systems are provided herein that include an outer tube, an inner tube, and a holder. The implant holding systems can be designed to hold various implants, such as bone anchors used in spinal operations. For example, one embodiment of an implant holding system can have an outer tube, an inner tube that can be disposed within the outer tube, and an implant holder that can be disposed within the inner tube. An individual bone anchor that has various configurations and sizes can be disposed within the holder, and the holder can engage the bone anchor to assist in maintaining an orientation of the bone anchor relative to the holder.

What is claimed is: 1. An anchor holding system, comprising: a handling container defining an interior volume and having an opening in communication with the interior volume and that is selectively sealable; a sterile container defining a sterile container interior volume and being configured to be received within the handling container, the sterile container having an opening in communication with the sterile container interior volume that is configured to be selectively sealable; and an implant holder configured to be disposed within the sterile container interior volume in a stationary orientation, the implant holder having a base from which an implant engaging fixture extends, the implant engaging fixture including a plurality of implant-engaging protrusions configured to receive and engage an implant to maintain an orientation and position of the implant within the sterile container, wherein the implant engaging fixture is configured to accommodate implants having different sizes. 2. The anchor holding system of claim 1 , wherein the base has a length and the base formed from a plurality of segments that are selectively removable to reduce the length of the base. 3. The anchor holding system of claim 1 , wherein the implant holder and the implant are simultaneously sealable within the sterile container. 4. The anchor holding system of claim 1 , wherein the holder has at least two bowed deformable legs configured to maintain a position of the implant holder inside the sterile inner container through a frictional engagement between each of the legs and an inner surface of the inner container. 5. The anchor holding system of claim 1 , wherein the handling container, the sterile container, and the implant holder are configured to be coaxial with each other along a longitudinal axis of the implant holder when the implant holder is disposed within the sterile container and the sterile container is disposed within the handling container. 6. The anchor holding system of claim 1 , wherein the handling container, the sterile container, and the implant holder are configured to allow visualization of the orientation of the implant when the implant is received in the implant holder. 7. The anchor holding system of claim 1 , wherein the sterile container is sealable by a cap, and the implant holder is configured to couple with the cap when the implant holder is disposed within the sterile container. 8. The anchor holding system of claim 1 , wherein the implant is a bone anchor, and the implant holder is configured to engage at least one of a shank or a head of the bone anchor. 9. The anchor holding assembly of claim 1 , wherein the base of the implant holder is circular. 10. The anchor holding system of claim 9 , wherein the circular base includes a plurality of elongate implant engaging fixtures extending radially inward from an inner wall of the base. 11. The anchor holding system of claim 10 , wherein the implant engaging fixtures extend radially inward in a spiral pattern. 12. The anchor holding system of claim 9 , wherein the circular base includes a plurality of elongate implant engaging fixtures in the form of trapezoidal structures forming broken ribbing that extend from an inner wall of the base. 13. The anchor holding system of claim 12 , wherein the trapezoidal structures are configured to engage with threads on the implant. 14. The anchor holding system of claim 9 , wherein the circular base includes a plurality of elongate implant engaging fixtures in the form of alignment members that that extend from an inner wall of the base and curve toward a central longitudinal axis. 15. An anchor holding system, comprising: a handling container having a removable and replaceable handling cap affixed thereto and configured to close an interior of the handling container; a sterile container being sealable with a cap effective to seal an interior of the sterile container, the sterile container containing an implant platform configured to support a proximal end of a surgical implant, the sterile container being receivable within the handling container; and an implant holder receivable in the sterile container and having a receiving head having an approximately U-shaped profile configured to retain the surgical implant in a fixed orientation relative to the implant holder, the implant holder having a plurality of surface features protruding from an exterior thereof, the plurality of surface features being configured to increase engagement between the implant holder and the sterile container. 16. The anchor holding system of claim 15 , wherein the handling cap is affixable to the handling container via a snap fit. 17. The anchor holding system of claim 15 , wherein the handling cap is affixable to the handling container via threading.
