What is claimed is: 1. An accessory tool comprising: an adapter end; and a shank coupled to the adapter end and including a first length, the shank including a tool engagement portion, a first reduced portion disposed between the tool engagement portion and the adapter end, the first reduced portion having a second length, and a second reduced portion formed in the tool engagement portion between the first reduced portion and an end of the shank, wherein the second reduced portion is configured to receive a ball detent; wherein the second length is 2.5% to 15% of a total length of the accessory tool. 2. The accessory tool of claim 1 , wherein the second length is 7% to 8% of the total length of the accessory tool. 3. The accessory tool of claim 1 , wherein the adapter end includes a body portion and a base portion. 4. The accessory tool of claim 1 , wherein the second reduced portion includes a third length, wherein the second length is greater than the third length. 5. The accessory tool of claim 1 , wherein the tool engagement portion includes a cross-section having a width, wherein the first reduced portion includes a first outer dimension, and wherein the width is greater than the first outer dimension. 6. The accessory tool of claim 5 , wherein the second reduced portion includes a second outer dimension, wherein the width is greater than the second outer dimension. 7. The accessory tool of claim 1 , wherein the shank includes a hex-shaped portion positioned between the first reduced portion and the second reduced portion, wherein the first reduced portion includes a fillet that transitions to the hex-shaped portion. 8. A socket adapter tool comprising: an adapter end including a body portion and a base portion, wherein the body portion includes an engagement mechanism configured to detachably couple the adapter end to a socket; and a shank coupled to the base portion and including a first end adjacent the adapter end, a second end opposite the first end, and a first length measured between the first and second ends, the shank including a tool engagement portion configured to interface with a tool, a first reduced portion disposed between the first end and the second end, the first reduced portion having a second length, a second reduced portion disposed between the first reduced portion and the second end of the shank, the second reduced portion configured to be engaged by the tool to secure the shank to the tool, and a hex-shaped portion positioned between the first reduced portion and the second reduced portion; wherein the second length is 10% to 30% of the first length. 9. The socket adapter tool of claim 8 , wherein the second length is 18% to 20% of the first length. 10. The socket adapter tool of claim 8 , wherein the body portion includes a cylindrical section extending away from the base portion, the cylindrical section including a plurality of protrusions. 11. The socket adapter tool of claim 8 , wherein the engagement mechanism includes a spring-loaded ball detent. 12. The socket adapter tool of claim 8 , wherein the base portion is integrally formed with the shank. 13. The socket adapter tool of claim 8 , further comprising a first fillet that is continuous with the adapter end. 14. The socket adapter tool of claim 7 , further comprising a second fillet that is continuous with the shank, wherein the second fillet is angled relative to the first reduced portion within a range of 110° to 140°. 15. The socket adapter tool of claim 8 , wherein the shank includes a tool engagement portion including a cross section having an outer width, and wherein the hex-shaped portion includes an outer width, wherein the outer width of the tool engagement portion is substantially equal to the outer width of the hex-shaped portion. 16. A shank for an accessory tool, the shank comprising: a tool engagement portion including a cross section having an outer width; a first reduced portion adjacent the tool engagement portion, the first reduced portion including a fillet that transitions to tool engagement portion and has a radius of curvature, the first reduced portion having a first outer diameter; a second reduced portion formed in the tool engagement portion between the first reduced portion and an end of the shank, the second reduced portion configured to be engaged by a tool to secure the shank to the tool, the second reduced portion having a second outer diameter; wherein the first outer diameter is 70% to 98% of the outer width; and a flange positioned on an opposite side of the first reduced portion from the tool engagement portion and integrally formed between the first reduced portion and an effector end of the accessory tool, wherein the flange is configured to be coupled to the effector end, the flange defining a maximum outer diameter of the shank. 17. The shank of claim 16 , wherein the first outer diameter is 90% to 95% of the outer width. 18. The shank of claim 16 , wherein the outer width of the tool engagement portion is greater than the first outer diameter, greater than the second outer diameter, and less than the maximum outer diameter. 19. The shank of claim 16 , wherein the first outer diameter is greater than the second outer diameter. 20. The shank of claim 16 , wherein the first reduced portion includes a first length and the second reduced portion includes a second length, wherein the first length is greater than the second length.
