Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A vehicle includes a chassis. a body coupled to the chassis, and a seating unit. The body includes a partition and a floor. The partition separates an interior of the body into a cab area and a cargo area. The floor defines a first interface within the cab area and a second interface within the cargo area. The first interface and the second interface are discrete and not connected. The seating unit includes a frame assembly having a pair of legs that engage with the first interface and the second interface such that the seating unit is selectively repositionable between (a) a first position forward of the partition and within the cab area and (b) a second position rearward of the partition and within the cargo area.

First claim

The invention claimed is: 1. A vehicle comprising: a chassis; a cab coupled to the chassis, the cab including a first floor portion defining a first pair of slots; a cargo body coupled to the chassis and positioned rearward of the cab, the cargo body including a second floor portion defining a second pair of slots, wherein the first pair of slots and the second pair of slots are discrete and not connected; a partition separating the cab and the cargo body; a seating unit including a frame assembly having a pair of legs that engage with the first pair of slots and the second pair of slots such that the seating unit is selectively repositionable between (a) a first position forward of the partition and within the cab and (b) a second position rearward of the partition and within the cargo body; and a storage rack selectively positionable in the cab when the seating unit is removed therefrom. 2. The vehicle of claim 1 , wherein the storage rack includes: end supports; and a plurality of trays extending between the end supports in a stacked arrangement. 3. The vehicle of claim 1 , wherein the seating unit includes: a seat base coupled to the pair of legs and that supports a seat cushion; and a seat back coupled to the seat base and that supports a back cushion. 4. The vehicle of claim 3 , wherein the seating unit includes a seat belt harness having: a seat belt buckle coupled to the seat base; and a seat belt coupled to the frame assembly at a plurality of points, the seat belt including a coupler configured to selectively interface with the seat belt buckle. 5. The vehicle of claim 1 , wherein the storage rack is selectively securable to the first floor portion. 6. The vehicle of claim 1 , wherein each of the first pair of slots and the second pair of slots defines a plurality of threaded apertures or includes a plurality of threaded studs that interface with the pair of legs of the frame assembly to facilitate coupling the seating unit in the first position and the second position. 7. A vehicle comprising: a chassis; a body coupled to the chassis, the body including: a partition separating an interior of the body into a cab area and a cargo area; and a floor defining a first interface within the cab area and a second interface within the cargo area, wherein the first interface and the second interface are discrete and not connected; a seating unit including a frame assembly having a pair of legs that engage with the first interface and the second interface such that the seating unit is selectively repositionable between (a) a first position forward of the partition and within the cab area and (b) a second position rearward of the partition and within the cargo area; and a storage rack selectively positionable in the cab area when the seating unit is removed therefrom. 8. The vehicle of claim 7 , wherein the storage rack is selectively securable to the floor. 9. The vehicle of claim 7 , wherein the storage rack includes: end supports; and a plurality of trays extending between the end supports in a stacked arrangement. 10. The vehicle of claim 7 , wherein each of the first interface and the second interface includes a plurality of threaded apertures. 11. The vehicle of claim 7 , wherein each of the first interface and the second interface includes a plurality of threaded studs. 12. The vehicle of claim 7 , wherein each of the first interface and the second interface defines a pair of slots that receive the pair of legs. 13. A vehicle comprising: a chassis; a body coupled to the chassis, the body having a cab area and a cargo area, the body including a floor defining a first interface within the cab area and a second interface within the cargo area, wherein the first interface and the second interface are discrete and not connected; a seating unit configured to engage with the first interface and the second interface such that the seating unit is selectively repositionable between (a) a first position within the cab area and (b) a second position within the cargo area; and a storage rack selectively positionable in the cab area when the seating unit is removed therefrom. 14. The vehicle of claim 13 , wherein the body includes a partition positioned to separate the cab area from the cargo area. 15. The vehicle of claim 13 , wherein each of the first interface and the second interface includes a plurality of threaded apertures. 16. The vehicle of claim 13 , wherein each of the first interface and the second interface includes a plurality of threaded studs. 17. The vehicle of claim 13 , wherein each of the first interface and the second interface defines one or more slots that receive one or more portions of the seating unit. 18. The vehicle of claim 13 , wherein the seating unit includes: a frame assembly including (a) a seat base that supports a seat cushion and (b) a seat back coupled to the seat base and that supports a back cushion; a seat belt buckle coupled to the seat base; and a seat belt coupled to the frame assembly at a plurality of points, the seat belt including a coupler configured to selectively interface with the seat belt buckle.
