Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

The present disclosure is generally related to devices, methods and systems for cleaning, disinfecting and/or sterilizing a medical device, medical hoses and tubes and accessories thereof with ozone gas, in particular the disclosure relates to devices, methods and systems with multiple receptacles for providing closed-loop fluid pathways to distribute ozone gas to inner passageways and the outer compartments of medical devices. The devices in accordance with an embodiment of the disclosure have two or more receptacles for distributing ozone gas, a gas-tight compartment, an ozone operating system, and one or more connector units configured to fluidly migrate ozone in closed-loop treatment systems.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. An ozone treatment system, comprising: a base comprising a first receptacle and a second receptacle; an ozone operating system within the base and fluidly coupled to the first receptacle, the ozone operating system configured to generate ozone gas; a compartment within the base and fluidly coupled to the second receptacle, the compartment configured to contain at least a part of a medical device; wherein: the ozone operating system is configured to cause at least a portion of said ozone gas to flow outside said base at least in part via said first receptacle; and the second receptacle is configured to receive at least a portion of said ozone gas from outside said base. 2. The ozone treatment system of claim 1 , wherein: at least a portion of said first receptacle extends through at least one wall of said base; and at least a portion of said second receptacle extends through at least one wall of said base. 3. The ozone treatment system of claim 2 , wherein: said base further comprises a lid that is movable between an open position and a closed position; and in the closed position at least, a portion of said lid defines at least a portion of said compartment. 4. The ozone treatment system of claim 1 , wherein the compartment comprises an exhaust port and the system further comprises a filter fluidly coupled to the exhaust port, the filter configured to convert ozone gas to oxygen. 5. The ozone treatment system of claim 1 , further comprising an ozone distribution line fluidly coupled to the first receptacle. 6. The ozone treatment system of claim 5 , wherein the ozone distribution line is further fluidly coupled to the ozone operating system. 7. The ozone treatment system of claim 1 , wherein: said first receptacle is further configured to fluidly couple to a proximal end of a hose, and to convey at least a portion of said ozone gas into said hose; the second receptacle is further configured to fluidly couple to a distal end of said hose, and to receive and convey ozone gas from said hose into said compartment. 8. The ozone treatment system of claim 7 , further comprising said hose, wherein said hose is a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) hose. 9. The ozone treatment system of claim 8 , wherein said first receptacle is fluidly coupled to the proximal end of said CPAP hose, and the second receptacle is fluidly coupled to the distal end of said CPAP hose. 10. The ozone treatment system of claim 7 , further comprising an ozone distribution line fluidly coupled to the first receptacle. 11. The ozone treatment system of claim 10 , wherein the ozone distribution line is further fluidly coupled to the ozone operating system. 12. The ozone treatment system of claim 7 , wherein: said first receptacle is further configured to couple directly to the proximal end of said hose and to convey at least a portion of said ozone gas into said hose and outside said base; and the second receptacle is further configured to couple directly to the distal end of said hose, and to receive and convey ozone gas from said hose into said compartment. 13. The ozone treatment system of claim 12 , further comprising said hose, wherein the hose is a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) hose. 14. The ozone treatment system of claim 7 , further comprising a connector unit and said hose, wherein the connector unit is configured to provide at least part of a fluid connection between the first receptacle and the proximal end of said hose, and the connector unit is configured to directly convey ozone gas only into said hose. 15. The ozone treatment system of claim 14 , wherein said hose is a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) hose. 16. The ozone treatment system of claim 15 , wherein: the connector unit comprises a proximal end fluidly coupled to the first receptacle and a distal end coupled directly to the proximal end of said CPAP hose; and the distal end of said CPAP hose is fluidly coupled to the second receptacle. 17. The ozone treatment system of claim 14 , further comprising an ozone distribution line fluidly coupled to the first receptacle and the connector unit. 18. The ozone treatment system of claim 17 , wherein the ozone distribution line is further fluidly coupled to the ozone operating system. 19. The ozone treatment system of claim 7 , wherein: said base further comprises a lid that is movable between an open position and a closed position; and in the closed position, at least a portion of said lid defines at least a portion of said compartment. 20. The ozone treatment system of claim 7 , wherein the compartment comprises an exhaust port and the system further comprises a filter fluidly coupled to the exhaust port, the filter configured to convert ozone gas to oxygen.
