The invention claimed is: 1. A dosage unit comprising 20 to 300 mg of a compound of the following formula: or comprising 20 to 300 mg of a free base equivalent of said compound, and further comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, diluent, or excipient. 2. The dosage unit according to claim 1 , which is a tablet comprising 20 to 300 mg of the compound. 3. The dosage unit according to claim 1 , which is a capsule comprising 20 to 300 mg of the compound. 4. The dosage unit according to claim 1 , which comprises 30 to 200 mg of the compound. 5. The dosage unit according to claim 1 , which comprises about 30 mg of the compound. 6. The dosage unit according to claim 1 , in which less than 12% of said compound is converted to methylthionium: over 2 years when stored at 25° C. at a relative humidity of 60%. 7. The dosage unit according to claim 1 , which comprises about 60 mg of the compound. 8. The dosage unit according to claim 1 , which comprises about 100 mg of the compound. 9. The dosage unit according to claim 1 , which comprises about 150 mg of the compound. 10. The dosage unit according to claim 1 , which comprises about 200 mg of the compound. 11. The dosage unit according to claim 1 , which is a tablet comprising 20 to 300 mg of the free base equivalent of the compound. 12. The dosage unit according to claim 1 , which is a capsule comprising 20 to 300 mg of the free base equivalent of the compound. 13.
