Disclosed herein are external fixation frames for correcting bone deformities. The external fixation frames include a top fixation ring and a bottom fixation ring coupled to one another by at least two struts. A half ring is coupled to bottom fixation ring. The bottom fixation ring is u-shaped. One or more rocker members may be coupled to the bottom fixation ring. The half ring may be hingedly coupled to the bottom fixation ring such that it can rotate with respect to the bottom fixation ring from a first position to a second position.

The invention claimed is: 1. An external fixation frame system for correcting a bone deformity, comprising: a circular ring having a medial portion and a lateral portion; a U-shaped fixation ring including a medial portion, a lateral portion, and a rounded posterior section connecting the medial and lateral portions of the U-shaped fixation ring; a first strut; a second strut; a half ring having a first free end, a second free end, and a transition portion extending between the first free end and the second free end; a half-ring fixation strut; a first ground-contacting support having a first threaded connector extending proximally therefrom, and a first tread on a bottom surface thereof; and a second ground-contacting support separate from the first ground-contacting support, the second ground-contacting support having a second threaded connector extending proximally therefrom, and a second tread on a bottom surface thereof; wherein in an assembled condition of the external fixation frame system, (1) the first strut extends through corresponding first through-holes in the medial portions of the circular ring and the U-shaped fixation ring, (2) the second strut extends through corresponding second through-holes in the lateral portions of the circular ring and the U-shaped fixation ring; (3) the first and second free ends of the half ring are coupled, respectively, to the medial and lateral portions of the U-shaped fixation ring; (4) the half-ring fixation strut connects the half-ring to the circular ring; (5) the first threaded connector extends through a third through-hole in the lateral portion of the U-shaped fixation ring and a first locking nut engages the first threaded connector to couple the first ground-contacting support to the U-shaped fixation ring, and (6) the second threaded connector extends through a fourth through-hole in the medial portion of the U-shaped fixation ring and a second locking nut engages the second threaded connector to couple the second ground-contacting support to the U-shaped fixation ring. 2. The external fixation frame system of claim 1 , wherein in the assembled condition of the fixation frame system, the first free end of the half ring is coupled to a terminal end of the medial portion of the U-shaped fixation ring. 3. The external fixation frame system of claim 2 , wherein in the assembled condition of the fixation frame system, the second free end of the half ring is coupled to a terminal end of the lateral portion of the U-shaped fixation ring. 4. The external fixation frame system of claim 1 , wherein the half ring includes a plurality of through-holes extending therethrough. 5. The external fixation frame system of claim 4 , wherein in the assembled condition of the fixation frame system, a first end of the half-ring fixation strut is coupled to the half ring via one of the plurality of through-holes extending through the half ring, and a second end of the half-ring fixation strut is coupled to the circular ring via a fifth through-hole in the circular ring. 6. The external fixation frame system of claim 5 , wherein the half-ring fixation strut is a telescopic strut. 7. The external fixation frame system of claim 6 , wherein the first end of the half-ring fixation strut includes a constrained hinge joint. 8. The external fixation frame system of claim 7 , wherein the second end of the half-ring fixation strut includes a universal joint. 9. The external fixation frame system of claim 1 , wherein the first strut and the second strut each include a threaded rod. 10. The external fixation frame system of claim 9 , wherein the first strut and the second strut are each telescopic struts that include a cylindrical body portion coupled to the U-shaped fixation ring, each of the cylindrical body portions receiving the corresponding threaded rod coaxially therein. 11. The external fixation frame system of claim 1 , further comprising a third strut, the third strut being telescopically adjustable and including a cylindrical body portion and a threaded rod portion, the threaded rod portion adapted to translate into and out of the cylindrical body. 12. The external fixation frame system of claim 11 , wherein the third strut includes a quick-release mechanism having a locked position and an unlocked position, the threaded rod being translatable into the cylindrical body by rotation when the quick-release mechanism is in the locked position, and the threaded rod being translatable into the cylindrical body without rotation when the quick-release mechanism is in the unlocked position. 13. The external fixation frame system of claim 1 , wherein the half ring has a shape of a half-circle. 14. The external fixation frame system of claim 1 , further comprising a third strut, wherein in the assembled condition of the external fixation frame system, the third strut extends through corresponding fifth through-holes in a posterior portion of the circular fixation ring and the rounded posterior section of the U-shaped fixation ring. 15. The external fixation frame system of claim 14 , wherein the third strut includes a threaded rod. 16. The external fixation frame system of claim 15 , wherein in the assembled condition of the external fixation frame system, exactly three struts directly couple the circular ring to the U-shaped fixation ring, the three struts being the first strut, the second strut, and the third strut. 17. The external fixation frame system of claim 1 , wherein in the assembled condition of the external fixation frame system, the half ring is hingedly coupled to the U-shaped fixation ring. 18. The external fixation frame system of claim 1 , wherein in the assembled condition of the external fixation frame system, the half-ring fixation strut couples the transition portion of the half ring to an anterior portion of the circular ring. 19. The external fixation frame system of claim 1 , wherein in the assembled condition of the external fixation frame system, the first ground-contacting support is positioned directly inferior to the lateral portion of the U-shaped fixation ring and the second ground-contacting support is positioned directly inferior to the medial portion of the U-shaped fixation ring so that a user's foot may be positioned between the first and second ground-contacting supports. 20. The external fixation frame system of claim 19 , wherein in the assembled condition of the external fixation frame system, the first ground-contacting support is symmetrical with the second ground-contacting support about a line extending between and parallel to the medial portion and the lateral anterior portion.
