A display device includes: a substrate that includes an opening and a display area that surrounds the opening; a plurality of grooves formed in the substrate between the opening and the display area; a display element layer on the substrate and that includes a plurality of display elements in the display area; a thin-film encapsulation layer disposed on the display element layer, the thin-film encapsulation layer including a first inorganic encapsulation layer, an organic encapsulation layer, and a second inorganic encapsulation layer which are sequentially stacked; a planarization layer disposed over the plurality of grooves and that includes an organic insulating material, wherein the planarization layer is disposed over the second inorganic encapsulation layer, and the organic encapsulation layer is disposed below the second inorganic encapsulation layer.

What is claimed is: 1. A display panel, comprising: a substrate that includes an opening in an opening area and a display area that surrounds the opening area; a display element layer disposed in the display area and that includes a plurality of display elements; a thin-film encapsulation layer that covers the display element layer and includes an organic encapsulation layer and an inorganic encapsulation layer; a first groove, a second groove, and a third groove disposed in a non-display area between the opening area and the display area, wherein the first, second, and third grooves are spaced apart from each other in the non-display area; an input sensing layer disposed in the display area over the thin-film encapsulation layer, wherein the input sensing layer comprises a plurality of touch electrodes that each include a metal mesh pattern, wherein the metal mesh pattern includes a plurality of holes that each correspond to emission areas of the plurality of display elements; and a crack detecting wiring disposed in the non-display area and that includes a metal material, wherein, in a plan view, the crack detecting wiring has an open curved shape and a part of the crack detecting wiring extends along a periphery of the opening of the substrate. 2. The display panel of claim 1 , wherein a first end portion of the crack detecting; wiring and a second end portion of the crack detecting wiring are spaced apart from each other. 3. The display panel of claim 2 , wherein the first end portion of the crack detecting wiring and the second end portion of the crack detecting each extend in a radial direction away from the opening area. 4. The display panel of claim 1 , wherein the metal material of the crack detecting wiring is a same as a material of the metal mesh pattern. 5. The display panel of claim 1 , wherein each of the first groove, the second groove, and the third groove has an under structure. 6. The display panel of claim 5 , wherein each of the first groove, the second groove, and the third groove comprises: a pair of tips that each protrude toward each other with a gap therebetween; and a recess under the pair of tips, wherein the gap of the pair of tips overlaps the recess, and a width of the gap between the pair of tips is less than a width of an upper portion of the recess. 7. The display panel of claim 6 , wherein, a length of each of the pair of tips is from about 1.0 μm to about 1.8 μm. 8. The display panel of claim 6 wherein the display element ayer comprises an organic layer and a cathode electrode layer, and each of the organic layer and the cathode electrode layer comprises portions that are separated from each other, wherein one of the portions is disposed in the first groove and another of the portions is disposed over one of the pair of tips. 9. The display panel of claim 1 , wherein the inotganic encapsulation layer comprises: a first inorganic encapsulation layer under the organic encapsulation layer; and a second inorganic encapsulation layer over the organic encapsulation layer, wherein the first inorganic encapsulation layer continuously overlaps bottom surfaces of the pair of tips and an inner surface of the recess. 10. The display panel of claim 9 , further comprising: a planarization layer over the encapsulation layer in the non-display area, wherein the planarization layer comprises an organic insulating material. 11. The display panel of claim 10 , wherein a portion of the planarization layer overlaps the organic encapsulation layer with a portion of the second inorganic encapsulation layer therebetween. 12. The display panel of claim 1 , further comprising: a scan line and a data line, wherein one of the scan line or the data line comprises a bypassing portion that detours around the opening area in the non-display area. 13. The display panel of claim 1 , fUrther comprising: a partition wall disposed in the non-display area, wherein the first groove is disposed between the partition wall and the display area, and the second and third grooves are disposed between the partition wall and the opening area. 14. A display device comprising a display panel, wherein display panel comprises: a substrate that includes an opening and a display area that surrounds the opening; a display element layer disposed in the display area and that includes a plurality of display elements; a thin-film encapsulation layer that covers the display element layer and includes a first inorganic encapsulation layer, a second inorganic encapsulation layer, and an organic encapsulation layer between the first inorganic encapsulation layer and second inorganic encapsulation layer; a plurality of grooves disposed in a non-display area between the opening and the display area, wherein the plurality of grooves are spaced apart from each other in the non-display area; an input sensing layer disposed in the display area over the thin-film encapsulation layer, wherein the input sensing layer comprises a plurality of touch electrodes that each include a metal mesh pattern, wherein the metal mesh pattern includes a plurality of holes that respectively correspond to emission areas of the plurality of display elements; and a crack detecting wiring disposed in the non-display area, wherein the crack detecting wiring has an open curved shape in a plan view, and comprises a metal material. 15. The display device of claim 14 , further comprising a component disposed under the display panel and that corresponds to the opening, wherein the component comprises a sensor, a camera, a lamp, microphone, or a speaker. 16. The display device of claim 14 , wherein a first end portion of the crack detecting wiring and a second end portion of the crack detecting wiring are spaced apart from each other, and a body portion of the crack detecting wiring between the first and second end portions extends along a periphery of the opening of the substrate in a plan view, and wherein the first end portion of the crack detecting wiring and the second end portion of the crack detecting each extend in a radial direction away from the opening area. 17. The display device of claim 14 , wherein the metal material of the crack detecting wiring is a same as a material of the metal mesh pattern. 18. The display device of claim 14 , wherein each of the plurality of grooves comprises: a pair of tips that each protrude toward each other with a gap therebetween; and a recess under the pair of tips, wherein the gap of the pair of tips overlaps the recess, and a width of the gap between the pair of tips is less than a width of an upper portion of the recess. 19. The display device of claim 18 , wherein a length of each of the pair of tips is from about 1.0 μm to about 1.8 μm. 20. The display device of claim 18 , wherein the display element layer comprises an organic layer and a cathode electrode layer, and each of the organic layer and the cathode electrode layer comprises portions that are separated from each other, wherein one of the portions is disposed in a groove that corresponds to the gap and another of the portions is disposed over one of the pair of tips. 21. The display device of claim 14 , wherein the first inorganic encapsulation layer continuously overlaps bottom surfaces of the pair of tips and an inner surface of the recess. 22. The display device of claim 14 , wherein the display panel further comprises: a planarization layer over the encapsulation layer in the non-display area,
