Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Embodiments include a system comprising a gateway that includes a processor coupled to sensors and/or network devices installed at a premises. The system includes a remote server coupled to the gateway and located remote to the premises. The gateway and/or the remote server includes data of the sensors and/or network devices. The system includes an application running on at least one of the gateway and the remote server. The application controls events corresponding to the data and/or the premises in response to content of the data. The system includes a client interface coupled to the gateway and/or the remote server. The client interface presents the data to client devices.

The invention claimed is: 1. A system comprising: a computing device configured to access captured content associated with a premises; and a user device configured to: determine user input indicative of at least one characteristic associated with a user-defined event, wherein the user-defined event is associated with a premises device located at the premises; send, to the computing device and based on the user input, an indication of the at least one characteristic, wherein the computing device is configured to determine a portion of the captured content associated with the at least one characteristic and to store searchable data associating the at least one characteristic with the determined portion of the captured content; send, to the computing device, a search request for content associated with the user-defined event; receive, based on the search request for content indicative of the user-defined event, data associated with the determined portion of the captured content; and cause, based on the data associated with the determined portion of the captured content, output of the determined portion of the captured content. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the premises device comprises one or more of a media device, a media capture device, an imaging device, an audio device, a camera, or a microphone. 3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one characteristic comprises at least one characteristic identified by a user in previously captured content. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one characteristic comprises one or more of a tagged object, an identified person, an amount of identified objects, or a type of identified object. 5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the user input indicative of the at least one characteristic comprises one or more of a date, data representing the user-defined event, a participant name associated with the user-defined event, a participant address associated with the user-defined event, an event address, an event start time, an event end time, a duration of the user-defined event, an event note, or a keyword associated with the user-defined event. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the computing device comprises one or more of a gateway device located at the premises or a server device located external to the premises. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the computing device is further configured to determine an interest level in the portion of the captured content based on one or more of premises security data, object data, recognition data, event data, or calendar data, and wherein the output of the determined portion of the captured content is organized based on the interest level. 8. A method comprising: determining, by a user device, user input indicative of at least one characteristic associated with a user-defined event, wherein the user-defined event is associated with a premises device located at a premises; sending, by the user device to a computing device and based on the user input, an indication of the at least one characteristic, wherein the computing device is configured to determine a portion of captured content associated with the at least one characteristic and the premises and to store searchable data associating the at least one characteristic with the determined portion of the captured content; sending, by the user device and to the computing device, a search request for content associated with the user-defined event; receiving, by the user device and based on the search request for content indicative of the user-defined event, data associated with the determined portion of the captured content; and causing, by the user device and based on the data associated with the determined portion of the captured content, output of the determined portion of the captured content. 9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the premises device comprises one or more of a media device, a media capture device, an imaging device, an audio device, a camera, or a microphone. 10. The method of claim 8 , wherein the at least one characteristic comprises at least one characteristic identified by a user in previously captured content. 11. The method of claim 8 , wherein the at least one characteristic comprises one or more of a tagged object, an identified person, an amount of identified objects, or a type of identified object. 12. The method of claim 8 , wherein the user input indicative of the at least one characteristic comprises one or more of a date, data representing the user-defined event, a participant name associated with the user-defined event, a participant address associated with the user-defined event, an event address, an event start time, an event end time, a duration of the user-defined event, an event note, or a keyword associated with the user-defined event. 13. The method of claim 8 , wherein the computing device comprises one or more of a gateway device located at the premises or a server device located external to the premises. 14. The method of claim 8 , wherein the output of the determined portion of the captured content is organized based on an interest level, and wherein the interest level is based on one or more of premises security data, object data, recognition data, event data, or calendar data. 15. A device comprising: one or more processors; and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the device to: determine user input indicative of at least one characteristic associated with a user-defined event, wherein the user-defined event is associated with a premises device located at a premises; send, to a computing device and based on the user input, an indication of the at least one characteristic, wherein the computing device is configured to determine a portion of captured content associated with the at least one characteristic and the premises and to store searchable data associating the at least one characteristic with the determined portion of the captured content; send, to the computing device, a search request for content associated with the user-defined event; receive, based on the search request for content indicative of the user-defined event, data associated with the determined portion of the captured content; and cause, based on the data associated with the determined portion of the captured content, output of the determined portion of the captured content. 16. The device of claim 15 , wherein the premises device comprises one or more of a media device, a media capture device, an imaging device, an audio device, a camera, or a microphone. 17. The device of claim 15 , wherein the at least one characteristic comprises at least one characteristic identified by a user in previously captured content. 18. The device of claim 15 , wherein the at least one characteristic comprises one or more of a tagged object, an identified person, an amount of identified objects, or a type of identified object. 19. The device of claim 15 , wherein the user input indicative of the at least one characteristic comprises one or more of a date, data representing the user-defined event, a participant name associated with the user-defined event, a participant address associated with the user-defined event, an event address, an event start time, an event end time, a duration of the user-defined event, an event note, or a keyword associated with the user-defined event. 20. The device of claim 15 , wherein the computing device comprises one or more of a gateway device located at the premises or a server device locat
