Abstract

A lawn refuse disposal assembly includes a lawn refuse bag comprising a bag body defining a top end; and a bag insert comprising a bag stand and a rake detachably coupled to the bag stand, the bag stand inserted into an interior cavity of the lawn refuse bag through the top end, the rake configured to shift lawn refuse into the lawn refuse bag.

First claim

That which is claimed is:

1. A lawn refuse disposal assembly comprising:
a lawn refuse bag comprising a bag body defining a top end; and
a bag insert comprising a bag stand and a rake detachably coupled to the bag stand, the bag stand inserted into an interior cavity of the lawn refuse bag through the top end, the rake configured to shift lawn refuse into the lawn refuse bag;
wherein:
the bag stand defines a top stand end and a bottom stand end opposite the top stand end;
the top stand end of the bag stand extends beyond the top end of the bag body;
the bag stand further defines a finger opening; and
the finger opening is oriented between the top end of the bag body and the top stand end of the bag stand.

2. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 1 , wherein:
the bag stand defines a slot;
the slot defines a retainer tab; and
a portion of the top end of the bag body is received within the slot.

3. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 2 , wherein the retainer tab abuts an outer surface of the bag body.

4. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 2 , wherein the slot is substantially U-shaped.

5. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 1 , wherein the bag stand comprises an end wall and a first side wall, the first side wall is hingedly coupled to the end wall at a first bend line, and the first side wall define a first side top edge and first side bottom edge opposite the first side top edge.

6. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 5 , wherein the first bend line comprises a plurality of perforations.

7. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 5 , wherein:
the lawn refuse bag comprises a base panel, a first end panel, a second end panel, a first sidewall panel, and a second sidewall panel;
the end wall of the bag stand confronts a one of the first and second end panels; and
the first side wall of the bag stand confronts a one of the first and second sidewall panels.

8. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 7 , wherein:
the bag stand further comprises a second side wall hingedly coupled to the end wall opposite the first side wall at a second bent line;
the first side wall extends along the other one of the first and second sidewall panels; and
the first side wall is substantially parallel to the second side wall.

9. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 8 , wherein:
the first side bottom edge of the first side wall abuts the base panel;
a second side bottom edge of the second side wall abuts the base panel; and
an end bottom edge of the end wall is spaced from the base panel.

10. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 9 , wherein the rake is detachably coupled to the end bottom edge of the end wall between the first side wall and the second side wall.

11. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 9 , wherein the end wall further defines an end top edge opposite the end bottom edge, and wherein the end top edge is substantially concave and arcs towards the end bottom edge.

12. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 5 , wherein:
the first side wall defines a first tapered section;
the tapered section tapers in width towards the first side bottom edge; and
a width of the first side wall at the first side bottom edge is less than a width of the first side wall at the first side top edge.

13. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 1 , wherein:
a first handle assembly coupled to the bag body at the top end;
a second handle assembly coupled to the bag body at the top end;
the lawn refuse bag defines a top opening configured to be oriented in a closed orientation and an open orientation;
the first handle assembly is engaged with the second handle assembly in the closed orientation; and
the first handle assembly is disengaged from the second handle assembly in the open orientation.

14. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 13 , wherein each of the first handle assembly and the second handle assembly comprise a connection portion coupled to the bag body and a handle portion extending from the connection portion away from the bag body.

15. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 1 , wherein the rake comprises a plurality of teeth configured to engage lawn refuse to shift the lawn refuse into the bag body.

16. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 15 , wherein:
the rake defines a teeth side and a grip side opposite the teeth side;
the plurality of teeth extend from the teeth side; and
a hand indentation is formed at the grip side.

17. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 16 , wherein the rake is a first rake, and wherein the lawn refuse disposal assembly further comprises a second rake detachably coupled to the bag stand and detachably coupled to the first rake.

18. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 1 , wherein the lawn refuse bag insert is formed as a blank and comprises a corrugated plastic sheet material.

19. A lawn refuse disposal assembly comprising:
a lawn refuse bag comprising a bag body defining a top end; and
a bag insert comprising a bag stand and a rake detachably coupled to the bag stand, the bag stand inserted into an interior cavity of the lawn refuse bag through the top end, the rake configured to shift lawn refuse into the lawn refuse bag;
wherein:
the bag stand comprises an end wall and a first side wall;
the first side wall is hingedly coupled to the end wall at a first bend line;
the first side wall define a first side top edge and first side bottom edge opposite the first side top edge;
the lawn refuse bag comprises a base panel, a first end panel, a second end panel, a first sidewall panel, and a second sidewall panel;
the end wall of the bag stand confronts a one of the first and second end panels;
the first side wall of the bag stand confronts a one of the first and second sidewall panels;
the bag stand further comprises a second side wall hingedly coupled to the end wall opposite the first side wall at a second bent line;
the first side wall extends along the other one of the first and second sidewall panels; and
the first side wall is substantially parallel to the second side wall.

20. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 19 , wherein:
the first side bottom edge of the first side wall abuts the base panel;
a second side bottom edge of the second side wall abuts the base panel; and
an end bottom edge of the end wall is spaced from the base panel.

21. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 20 , wherein the rake is detachably coupled to the end bottom edge of the end wall between the first side wall and the second side wall.

22. The lawn refuse disposal assembly of claim 20 , wherein the end wall further defines an end top edge opposite the end bottom edge, and wherein the end top edge is substantially concave and arcs towards the end bottom edge.

23. A lawn refuse disposal assembly comprising:
a lawn refuse bag comprising a bag body defining a top end; and
a bag insert comprising a bag stand and a rake detachably coupled to the bag stand, the bag stand inserted into an interior cavity of the lawn refuse bag through the top end, the rake configured to shift lawn refuse into the lawn refuse bag;
wherein:
a first handle assembly coupled to the bag body at the top end;
a second handle assembly coupled to the bag body at the top end;
the lawn refuse bag defines a top opening configured to be oriented in a closed orientation and an open orientation;
the first handle assembly is engaged
