Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

The invention relates to: a light-emitting device which includes a first flexible substrate having a first electrode, a light-emitting layer over the first electrode, and a second electrode with a projecting portion over the light-emitting layer and a second flexible substrate having a semiconductor circuit and a third electrode electrically connected to the semiconductor circuit, in which the projecting portion of the second electrode and the third electrode are electrically connected to each other; a method for manufacturing the light-emitting device; and a cellular phone which includes a housing incorporating the light-emitting device and having a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction, in which the light-emitting device is disposed on a horn side and in an upper portion in the longitudinal direction of the housing.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A display device comprising: an EL panel comprising a light-emitting element over a flexible substrate; a driver circuit overlapping with the EL panel; a transistor over the flexible substrate; a first insulating film over the transistor; and an electrode of the light-emitting element over the first insulating film and electrically connected to the transistor, wherein the EL panel is configured to display an image in a first direction and in a second direction different from the first direction, wherein the EL panel is bent in such a way that an edge of the EL panel overlaps with the EL panel with a curved region of the EL panel therebetween, and wherein the driver circuit overlaps with the EL panel with the curved region provided therebetween. 2. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the EL panel comprises a flat region and the curved region extending from the flat region, and wherein a surface of the flat region is larger than a surface of the curved region. 3. The display device according to claim 2 , wherein the display device is not capable of bending. 4. A display device comprising: an EL panel comprising a light-emitting element over a flexible substrate; a driver circuit overlapping with the EL panel; a transistor over the flexible substrate; a first insulating film over the transistor; an electrode of the light-emitting element over the first insulating film and electrically connected to the transistor; and a support, wherein the EL panel is configured to display an image in a first direction and in a second direction different from the first direction, wherein the EL panel is bent in such a way that an edge of the EL panel overlaps with the EL panel with a curved region of the EL panel therebetween, wherein the driver circuit overlaps with the EL panel, and wherein the support is provided between a first region of a back side of the EL panel and a second region of the back side of the EL panel. 5. A display device comprising: an EL panel comprising a light-emitting element over a flexible substrate; a driver circuit; a transistor over the flexible substrate; an electrode of the light-emitting element electrically connected to the transistor; and a support, wherein the EL panel is bent in such a way that an edge of the EL panel overlaps with the EL panel with a curved region of the EL panel therebetween, wherein the driver circuit overlaps with a back side of the EL panel, and wherein the support is provided between a first region of the back side of the EL panel and a second region of the back side of the EL panel.
