Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A broadcast signal transmission method comprises outputting an RoHC channel that includes one or more RoHC streams and a signaling table that includes information related to header compression by performing header compression for Internet Protocol (IP) packets, which include broadcast data, in accordance with an adaptation mode, a header of each IP packet including an IP header and a User Datagram Protocol (UDP) header, generating at least one first link layer packet that includes the RoHC channel and generating at least one second link layer packet that includes the signaling table, and physical layer processing the at least one first link layer packet and the at least one second link layer packet and transmitting through one or more Physical Layer Pipes (PLPs), wherein the signaling table includes adaptation mode information indicating the adaptation mode, and each RoHC stream in the RoHC channel includes RoHC packets.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the catalog RDT includes multiple RDTs, and wherein the multiple RDTs are continuously included in a link layer packet. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the ALP stream is delivered to a Physical Layer Pipe (PLP), and wherein identification information of the PLP is mapped to a channel number of an RoHC channel including the RoHC stream. 4. The method of claim 3 , wherein a value of a context identifier (CID) of the RoHC stream is 0, and wherein the RoHC stream corresponds to most common IP/UDP stream of IP/UDP streams. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the RDT further includes adaptation mode information for indicating the adaptation mode, wherein, when the RoHC packets include an Initialization and Refresh (IR) packet, an IR-Dynamic (IR-DYN) packet and compressed packets, the adaptation mode information indicates an adaptation mode 1, wherein, when the RoHC packets include an IR-DYN packet and compressed packets, the adaptation mode information indicates an adaptation mode 2, and wherein, when the RoHC packets include only compressed packets, the adaptation mode information indicates an adaptation mode 3. 6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the context information in the RDT includes static chain information of a first IP/UDP packet of the IP/UDP stream when the adaptation mode information indicates the adaptation mode 2, and wherein the context information in the RDT includes static chain information and dynamic chain information of a first IP/UDP packet of the IP/UDP stream when the adaptation mode information indicates the adaptation mode 3. 7. An apparatus for transmitting a broadcast signal, the apparatus comprising: a header compressor to generate a Robust Header Compression (RoHC) stream by performing header compression on Internet Protocol/User datagram Protocol (IP/UDP) packets in an IP/UDP stream, which include broadcast data, and to generate an RoHC-U Description Table (RDT) including information related to the header compression, wherein the RoHC stream includes RoHC packets; an encapsulation module to encapsulate the RoHC packets in the RoHC stream into link layer packets and to output an ATSC link layer protocol (ALP) stream including the link layer packets; and a physical layer processor to physical layer process the link layer packets in the ALP stream, wherein the RDT further includes context information based on an adaptation mode, wherein the RDT is categorized into a catalog RDT and a discrete RDT in accordance with a delivery type, wherein the catalog RDT includes context information for multiple ALP streams, and wherein the discrete RDT is carried exclusively within the ALP stream. 8.
