Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

The present invention provides a method for transmitting a broadcast signal, and a system capable of supporting future broadcast services in an environment supporting future hybrid broadcast using terrestrial broadcast networks and the Internet. In addition, the present invention provides efficient signaling methods using both terrestrial broadcast networks and the Internet in an environment supporting future hybrid broadcast.

1 . A method for transmitting a broadcast signal, the method comprising: generating service data of a broadcast service and service signaling information signaling the service data; processing the service data and the service signaling information into a broadcast stream; and transmitting the broadcast stream, wherein the service data and the service signaling information are carried by plural transport packets, the plural transport packets delivered through at least one first transport session, each of the at least one first transport session including plural second transport sessions. 2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the broadcast stream includes a service list table, and wherein the service list table includes bootstrap information indicating a first transport session carrying the service signaling information. 3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the service signaling information includes first information, second information and third information, and wherein the first information references the second information and the third information, the second information includes information about the second transport sessions carrying the service data, and the third information includes description information about the service data. 4 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein at least one transport packet of the plural transport packets includes at least one fragment of one of the service signaling information, and wherein the at least one transport packet includes a transport object identifier for identifying data included in the transport packet. 5 . The method according to claim 4 , wherein the transport object identifier includes fragment type information, fragment type extension information and version information, and wherein the fragment type information identifies a type of the fragment included in the at least one transport packet, the fragment type extension information identifies sub-types of the fragment, and the version information identifies a version of data included in the at least one transport packet. 6 . The method according to claim 5 , wherein, when the transport packet includes plural fragments, the fragment type extension information indicates whether the fragment of the first information, the second information or the third information is included in the transport packet. 7 . The method according to claim 5 , wherein, when the transport packet includes a single fragment, the fragment type extension information has a value derived from an identifier of the single fragment. 8 . The method according to claim 5 , wherein the fragment type information, the fragment type extension information and the version information are used to filter the service signaling information. 9 . The method according to claim 2 , wherein the service signaling information is transmitted through a dedicated second transport session included in the first transport session indicated by the bootstrap information. 10 . The method according to claim 2 , wherein the processing of the service data and the service signaling information into a broadcast stream comprises: generating link layer packets by encapsulating the service data, the service signaling information and a service list table; and processing the link layer packet into the broadcast stream. 11 . An apparatus for transmitting a broadcast signal, the apparatus comprising: a first module that generates service data of a broadcast service and service signaling information signaling the service data; a second module that processes the service data and the service signaling information into a broadcast stream; and a third module that transmits the broadcast stream, wherein the service data and the service signaling information are carried by plural transport packets, the plural transport packets delivered through at least one first transport session, each of the at least one first transport session including plural second transport sessions. 12 . The apparatus according to claim 11 , wherein the broadcast stream includes a service list table, and wherein the service list table includes bootstrap information indicating a first transport session carrying the service signaling information. 13 . The apparatus according to claim 11 , wherein the service signaling information includes first information, second information and third information, wherein the first information references the second information and the third information, the second information includes information about the second transport sessions carrying the service data, and the third information includes description information about the service data. 14 . The apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein at least one transport packet of the plural transport packets includes at least one fragment of one of the service signaling information, and wherein the at least one transport packet includes a transport object identifier for identifying data included in the transport packet. 15 . The apparatus according to claim 14 , wherein the transport object identifier includes fragment type information, fragment type extension information and version information, and wherein the fragment type information identifies a type of the fragment included in the at least one transport packet, the fragment type extension information identifies sub-types of the fragment, and the version information identifies a version of data included in the at least one transport packet. 16 . The apparatus according to claim 15 , wherein, when the transport packet includes plural fragments, the fragment type extension information indicates whether the fragment of the first information, the second information or the third information is included in the transport packet. 17 . The apparatus according to claim 15 , wherein, when the transport packet includes a single fragment, the fragment type extension information has a value derived from an identifier of the single fragment. 18 . The apparatus according to claim 15 , wherein the fragment type information, the fragment type extension information and the version information are used to filter the service signaling information. 19 . The apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the service signaling information is transmitted through a dedicated second transport session included in the first transport session indicated by the bootstrap information. 20 . The apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the second module generates link layer packets by encapsulating the service data, the service signaling information and a service list table and processes the link layer packet into the broadcast stream.
