What is claimed: 1. An air filter cartridge comprising: (a) a filter media pack having: (i) an inlet flow end and an opposite outlet flow end; (ii) filter media extending between the inlet flow end and the opposite outlet flow end; and, (iii) opposite curved ends separated by opposite sides; and, (b) a radially outwardly directed housing seal arrangement secured around a periphery of the media pack; (i) the housing seal arrangement comprising a seal member; and, (ii) the seal member comprising a seal surface having a racetrack shape comprising opposite curved ends separated by opposite sides; and, (c) a band extending around a periphery of the media pack; (i) the band having a first end, a second end, and two opposite sides extending between the band first end and the band second end; (ii) the band having a ramp-engagable portion for engagement with an air cleaner housing ramp during installation of the filter cartridge into an air cleaner housing; (iii) the band being permanently mounted around the periphery of the filter media pack; and, (iv) the band having a projection arrangement to provide for grasping of the band during handling of the air filter cartridge; the projection arrangement being in overlap with one of the band first end and the band second end and not in overlap with the other of the band first end and the band second end; and, (v) the band being spaced from, and separate from, the seal member. 2. An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the projection arrangement includes a platform secured to the band. 3. An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 2 wherein: (a) the platform defines a perimeter area of at least 3600 sq. mm. 4. An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the two opposite sides of the band comprise straight, parallel, side extensions. 5. An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the band includes at least two regions of different widths; (i) a first width being a region of the band accommodating the projection arrangement; and (ii) a second width being a region of the band that does not accommodate the projection arrangement. 6. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the band is located at an end of the media pack remote from the seal member. 7. An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the projection arrangement includes recess region provided between the platform and a portion of the band. 8. An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the band is located around the filter media pack adjacent the inlet flow end. 9. An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the housing seal arrangement comprises a frame portion, wherein the seal member is supported by the frame portion. 10. An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the seal member includes a portion molded to the filter media pack. 11. An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the projection arrangement includes a recess region provided between the platform and a portion of the band. 12. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the filter media defining a plurality of parallel ridges extending in a direction parallel to a central flow axis between the inlet flow end and the opposite outlet flow end. 13. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the filter media pack comprises rows of the plurality of parallel ridges. 14. An air filter cartridge according to claim 13 wherein: (a) the rows of the plurality of parallel ridges are separated by facing media. 15. An air filter cartridge according to claim 14 wherein: (a) the rows of the plurality of parallel ridges separated by the facing media form flutes. 16. An air filter cartridge according to claim 15 wherein: (a) the flutes comprise inlet flutes open to flow at the inlet flow end and closed to flow at the outlet flow end, and outlet flutes closed to flow at the inlet flow end and open to flow at the outlet flow end. 17. An air filter cartridge according to claim 16 wherein: (a) the filter media pack comprises alternating fluted media and facing media. 18. An air filter cartridge according to claim 16 wherein: (a) the alternating fluted media and facing media are secured to each other at one of the inlet flow end and the outlet flow end. 19. An air filter cartridge according to claim 18 wherein: (a) at least a portion of the flutes do not extend a complete distance between the inlet flow end and the outlet flow end. 20. An air filter cartridge according to claim 18 wherein: (a) at least a portion of the flutes are closed prior to one of the inlet flow end and the outlet flow end. 21. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the flutes closed prior to one of the inlet flow end and the outlet flow end are closed by folding the flutes closed. 22. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the plurality of parallel ridges comprises alternating concave ridge and convex ridge. 23. An air filter cartridge according to claim 17 wherein: (a) the fluted media comprises alternating concave ridge and convex ridge. 24. An air filter cartridge according to claim 23 wherein: (a) the fluted media comprising alternating concave ridge and convex ridge is formed by corrugating. 25. An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the projection arrangement on the band is not in overlap with the two opposite sides of the band. 26. An air filter cartridge arrangement according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the projection arrangement on the band comprises a handle. 27. An air filter cartridge comprising: (a) a filter media pack having: (i) an inlet flow end and an opposite outlet flow end; and (ii) filter media extending between the inlet flow end and the opposite outlet flow end; and (b) a radially outwardly directed housing seal arrangement secured around a periphery of the media pack at the outlet flow end of the media pack; (i) the housing seal arrangement comprising a seal member comprising a radially outwardly directed seal surface; and, (c) a band extending around a periphery of the media pack; (i) the band having a first end, a second end, and two opposite sides extending between the first end and the second end; (ii) the band having a ramp-engageable portion for engagement with an air cleaner housing ramp during installation of the filter cartridge into an air cleaner housing: (iii) the band being permanently mounted around the filter media pack; (iv) the band having a projection arrangement to provide for grasping of the band during handling; the projection arrangement being in overlap with one of the band first end and the band second end and not in overlap with the other of the band first end and the band second end; (A) the projection arrangement includes a platform, wherein the platform is located on an end of the projection arrangement away from the filter media pack; and, (v) the band being spaced from, and separate from, the seal member. 28.
