What is claimed is: 1. An air filter cartridge comprising: (a) filter media having opposite ends; (b) a preform having a portion positioned adjacent an end of the filter media; (i) the preform including a seal support section; (c) a molded-in-place component including: (i) an air cleaner seal portion having a surface configured to form a non-circular radially outwardly directed seal with an air cleaner; and, (ii) a portion integrally molded with the air cleaner seal portion and securing the preform to the filter media; (iii) the seal support section being positioned to support the non-circular radially outwardly directed seal. 2. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the air cleaner seal portion defines an oval surface configured to form an oval radially outwardly directed seal. 3. An air filter cartridge according to claim 2 wherein: (a) the molded-in-place component includes a portion surrounding the media. 4. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the preform includes a cross-piece arrangement extending at least partially across an end of the filter media. 5. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the media comprises fluted media secured to facing media. 6. An air filter cartridge according to claim 5 wherein: (a) the media comprises a coiled pack of fluted media secured to facing media. 7. An air filter cartridge comprising: (a) a media pack comprising fluted media secured to facing media and having opposite ends; (b) a first preform mounted on, and secured to, the media pack; and, (c) a molded component including an air cleaner seal portion and a portion secured to the media pack; the molded component securing a portion of the first preform to the media pack. 8. An air filter cartridge according to claim 7 including: (a) a second preform member having a portion surrounding an end of the media opposite the end having the first preform thereon. 9. An air filter cartridge according to claim 7 wherein: (a) the media pack comprises a coiled arrangement of fluted media secured to facing media. 10. An air filter cartridge according to claim 7 wherein: (a) the molded seal component is configured to form a non-circular radial seal. 11. An air filter cartridge according to claim 7 wherein: (a) the molded seal component is configured to form a non-circular outwardly directed radial seal. 12. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the seal support section is configured having a non-circular shape. 13. An air filter cartridge according to claim 12 wherein: (a) the non-circular shape of the seal support section comprises an oval shape. 14. An air filter cartridge according to claim 12 wherein: (a) the non-circular shape of the seal support section comprises two opposite curved ends spaced part by two opposite sides. 15. An air filter cartridge according to claim 14 wherein: (a) the opposite sides are straight. 16. An air filter cartridge according to claim 5 wherein: (a) the fluted media secured to facing media comprises inlet flutes and outlet flutes, wherein the inlet flutes and the outlet flutes extend between the filter media opposite ends. 17. An air filter cartridge according to claim 7 wherein: (a) the media pack comprising fluted media secured to facing media comprises inlet flutes and outlet flutes, wherein the inlet flutes and the outlet flutes extend between the opposite ends.
