Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A particle conveying device includes a storage portion that stores pressure sensitive adhesive particles that contain at least a binder resin, have a pressure-induced phase transition property, and have a sulfur content in a range of 0.1 mass % or more and 0.5 mass % or less relative to the entire pressure sensitive adhesive particles as measured by X-ray fluorescence; and a conveying member that is disposed in the storage portion and rotates about a shaft that extends in one direction inside the storage portion to thereby convey the pressure sensitive adhesive particles in a direction along the shaft inside the storage portion.

What is claimed is: 1. A particle conveying device comprising: a storage portion comprising pressure sensitive adhesive particles that have a pressure-induced phase transition property, and have a sulfur content in a range of 0.1 mass % or more and 0.5 mass % or less relative to the entire pressure sensitive adhesive particles as measured by X-ray fluorescence; and a conveying member that is disposed in the storage portion and rotates about a shaft that extends in one direction inside the storage portion to thereby convey the pressure sensitive adhesive particles in a direction along the shaft inside the storage portion, wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive particles include a sea phase containing a styrene resin and island-phases containing a (meth)acrylate resin and being disbursed in the sea phase, and an average size of the island phases is in a range 200 nm or more and 500 nm or less. 2. The particle conveying device according to claim 1 , wherein the conveying member is a film auger. 3. The particle conveying device according to claim 1 , wherein the conveying member is a coil auger. 4. The particle conveying device according to claim 1 , further comprising a loosening member that loosens the pressure sensitive adhesive particles conveyed by the conveying member, the loosening member being disposed on a downstream side of the conveying member in a conveying direction. 5. The particle conveying device according to claim 1 , wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive particles have at least two glass transition temperatures, and a difference between the lowest glass transition temperature and the highest glass transition temperature is 30° C. or more. 6. The particle conveying device according to claim 1 , wherein the styrene resin contains a styrene and another vinyl monomer as polymerization components, and the (meth)acrylate resin that contains at least two (meth)acrylates as polymerization components, wherein a mass ratio of the (meth)acrylates relative to a total of the polymerization components of the (meth)acrylate resin is 90 mass % or more. 7. An image forming apparatus comprising: the particle conveying device according to claim 1 ; and an image forming unit that forms an image by using the pressure sensitive adhesive particles conveyed by the particle conveying device. 8. The delivery device according to claim 1 , wherein the pressure-induced phase transition property means that the pressure sensitive adhesive particles satisfy Formula 1 below: 10° C.≤ T 1− T 2  Formula 1; wherein, in Formula 1, T1 represents a temperature at which a viscosity of the pressure sensitive adhesive particles is 10000 Pa·s at a pressure of 1 Mpa, and T2 represents a temperature at which a viscosity of the pressure sensitive adhesive particles is 10000 Pa·s at a pressure of 10 Mpa. 9. The delivery device according to claim 1 , wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive particles satisfy Formula 2 below: 5° C.≤ T 1− T 3≤25° C.  Formula 2; wherein, in Formula 2, T1 represents a temperature at which a viscosity of the pressure sensitive adhesive particle is 10000 Pa·s at a pressure of 1 Mpa and T3 represents a temperatures at which a viscosity of the pressure sensitive adhesive particles is 10000 Pa·s at a pressure of 4 MP. 10. The delivery device according to claim 2 , wherein the film auger comprises a film portion disposed on a side surface of the shaft, the film portion comprising a plurality of blades spaced apart in a depth direction of the delivery device. 11. The delivery device according to claim 10 , wherein the film auger further comprises a stirring portion, the stirring portion comprising a plurality plate surfaces facing in the depth direction of the delivery device. 12. The delivery device according to claim 3 , wherein the coil auger comprises a wire formed into a hollow spiral shape extending in a depth direction of the delivery device. 13. The particle conveying device according to claim 4 , wherein the loosening member comprises a plurality of columnar rods. 14. The particle conveying device according to claim 13 , further comprising a first spiral blade formed on a peripheral surface of the shaft and a second spiral blade formed on the peripheral surface of the shaft, the loosening member being disposed between the first spiral blade and the second spiral blade. 15. The delivery device according to claim 1 , wherein a weight-average molecular weight of the (meth)acrylate resin is in a range of 50,000 or more to 250,000 or less.
