A lithium secondary battery includes: a cathode, an anode; and an electrolyte between the cathode and the anode, wherein the cathode includes a cathode active material represented by Formula 1 below, and the electrolyte includes a lithium salt, a non-aqueous solvent, and a compound represented by Formula 2, where x, y, z, M, A, L1, a1, and R1 to R4 are defined as described in the disclosure.

What is claimed is: 1. A lithium secondary battery, comprising: a cathode; an anode; and an electrolyte between the cathode and the anode, wherein the cathode comprises a cathode active material represented by Formula 4, the electrolyte includes a lithium salt, a non-aqueous solvent, and a compound represented by Formula 2, and wherein a weight of the compound represented by Formula 2 above is 0.05 wt % or more and less than 5 wt % based on a total weight of the electrolyte: Li x′ Ni y′ Co 1-y′-z′ Mn z′ O 2 Formula 4 wherein, in Formula 4, 0.9≤x′≤1.2, 0.88≤y′≤0.98, 0<z′≤0.015, and 0<1-y′-z′<0.2 are satisfied; and wherein, in Formula 2, L 1 is selected from *—N(R 5 )—*′, *—O—*′, *—S—*′, a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 30 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 2 -C 30 alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 2 -C 30 alkynyl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted C 2 -C 30 alkoxyalkyl group, a1 is an integer 0 to 3, and the L 1 s are the same as or different from each other when a1 is 2 or more, R 1 to R 4 are each independently a methyl group, R 5 is selected from a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 30 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 2 -C 30 alkenyl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted vinyl group, and * and *′ indicate a binding site to a neighboring atom. 2. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein, in Formula 2, L 1 is selected from a methylene group, an ethylene group, a propylene group, a butylene group, a pentylene group, a hexylene group, and a heptylene group; and a methylene group, an ethylene group, a propylene group, a butylene group, a pentylene group, a hexylene group, and a heptylene group, each of which is substituted with at least one selected from a methyl group, an ethyl group, a propyl group, a vinyl group, —F, —Cl, —Br, —I, a cyano group, a hydroxy group, and a nitro group. 3. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein, in Formula 2, a1 is 1 or 2. 4. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein, in Formula 2, i) a1 is 1, and L 1 is an ethylene group; or ii) a1 is 2, and L is a methylene group. 5. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein, the compound is Compound 1 below: 6. The lithium secondary battery of claim 1 , wherein, a weight of the compound represented by Formula 2 is 0.1 wt % to 4 wt % based on a total weight of the electrolyte.
