Embodiments of the systems described herein can implement one or more visitor stitching processes. Visitor stitching can include, among other things, one or more processes by which multiple visitors that may appear distinctly independent may be merged into a new single united visitor profile due to the leveraging of one or more unique persistent identifiers.

What is claimed is: 1. A method of operating a tag management system for configuring one or more data collection tags to gather data indicative of user interactions with a content site, the method comprising: operating a first instance of a tag management system in a first cloud region, the tag management system comprising functionality to generate and output one or more user interfaces for a first user to: select one or more of a plurality of data collection tags to associate with a tag container, the one or more of the plurality of data collection tags comprising instructions that, when executed by a user system, cause the user system to gather data indicative of user interactions with a content site and transmit the data indicative of the user interactions via a computer network, associate the one or more of the plurality of data collection tags with the tag container responsive to a user selection, and map data sources in a content page of the content site to data sources gathered by the one or more data collection tags to configure the data sources in the content page for which the data indicative of the user interactions is gathered by the one or more of the plurality of data collection tags; operating a second instance of the tag management system in a second cloud region different from the first cloud region simultaneous with operating the first instance of the tag management system in the first cloud region; communicating first data between the first cloud region and the second cloud region via one or more computer network tunnels; and outputting second data associated with the first instance of the tag management system and the second instance of the tag management system via the one or more computer network tunnels for presentation to a second user. 2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving and storing, by the first instance of the tag management system, the data indicative of the user interactions; and receiving and storing, by the second instance of the tag management system, the data indicative of the user interactions. 3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising communicating, via the computer network, third data between the first instance of the tag management system and an electronic device operated by the first user. 4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: controlling, by a first load balancer, requests to the first instance of the tag management system; and controlling, by a second load balancer different from the first load balancer, requests to the second instance of the tag management system. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second instance of the tag management system operates to provide redundant access to the tag management system relative to the first instance of the tag management system. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second data comprises operation data for the first instance of the tag management system and the second instance of the tag management system. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more computer network tunnels comprises one or more virtual private network tunnels. 8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising assigning a first nonpublic network address to the first instance of the tag management system and a second nonpublic network address to the second instance of the tag management system. 9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising obscuring, by an electronic device, a first network address assigned to the first instance of the tag management system and a second network address assigned to the second instance of the tag management system. 10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first cloud region is implemented in a first data center, and the second cloud region is implemented in a second data center different from the first data center. 11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first cloud region is implemented as a first virtual machine, and the second cloud region is implemented as a second virtual machine different from the first virtual machine. 12. The method of claim 1 , further comprising operating a first content delivery network and a second content delivery network separate from the first content delivery network, the first content delivery network and the second content delivery network redundantly storing the one or more of the plurality of data collection tags. 13. The method of claim 12 , further comprising determining, by a domain name system, whether a selection criteria indicates to obtain the one or more of the plurality of data collection tags from the first content delivery network or the second content delivery network. 14. The method of claim 13 , wherein the selection criteria comprises a latency in communication between the domain name system and either the first content delivery network or the second content delivery network. 15. The method of claim 14 , further comprising indicating, by the domain name system, to obtain the one or more of the plurality of data collection tags from the first content delivery network rather than the second content delivery network. 16. A configuration system for managing one or more data collection tags to gather data indicative of user interactions with a content site, the configuration system comprising: one or more first hardware processors configured to operate a first instance of a tag management system, the tag management system comprising functionality to generate and output one or more user interfaces for a first user to: select one or more of a plurality of data collection tags to associate with a tag container, the one or more of the plurality of data collection tags comprising instructions that, when executed by a user system, cause the user system to gather data indicative of user interactions with a content site and transmit the data indicative of the user interactions via a computer network, associate the one or more of the plurality of data collection tags with the tag container responsive to a user selection, and map data sources in a content page of the content site to data sources gathered by the one or more of the plurality of data collection tags to configure the data sources in the content page for which the data indicative of the user interactions is gathered by the one or more of the plurality of data collection tags; and one or more second hardware processors separate from the one or more first hardware processors, the one or more second hardware processors being configured to operate a second instance of the tag management system in a second cloud region different from the first cloud region simultaneous with the one or more first hardware processors operating the first instance of the tag management system in the first cloud region, wherein the one or more first hardware processors and the one or more second hardware processors are configured to communicate first data between the first cloud region and the second cloud region via one or more computer network tunnels, and the one or more first hardware processors and the one or more second hardware processors are configured to output second data associated with the first instance of the tag management system and the second instance of the tag management system via the one or more computer network tunnels for presentation to a second user. 17. The configuration system of claim 16 , wherein the one or more first hardware processors are configured to receive and store to a first memory device the data indicative of the user interactions, and the one or more second hardware processors are configured to receive and store to a second memory device t
