A driveline for a military vehicle includes a driver. The driver includes a housing, a motor/generator, and a clutch. The housing includes an engine mount configured to couple to an engine and a backing plate configured to couple to a transmission. The motor/generator is disposed within the housing and configured to couple to an input of the transmission. The clutch is disposed within the housing and coupled to the motor/generator. The clutch is configured to selectively couple an output of the engine to the motor/generator. The clutch is spring-biased into engagement with the engine and pneumatically disengaged by an air supply selectively provided thereto.

The invention claimed is: 1. A driveline for a military vehicle, the driveline comprising: a driver configured to be positioned between an engine and a transmission, the driver including: a housing including an engine mount configured to couple to the engine and a backing plate configured to couple to the transmission; a motor/generator disposed within the housing and configured to couple to an input of the transmission; a clutch disposed within the housing and coupled to the motor/generator, the clutch configured to selectively couple an output of the engine to the motor/generator; wherein the clutch is spring-biased into engagement with the engine and pneumatically disengaged by an air supply selectively provided thereto; wherein, when the clutch is disengaged, the driver is configured to receive power from an energy storage system and provide a mechanical output to the input of the transmission to drive the military vehicle; and wherein, when the clutch is engaged, the motor/generator is configured to (a) selectively provide a mechanical output to the transmission to drive the military vehicle based on a mechanical input received from the engine and (b) selectively generate electricity based on the mechanical input. 2. The driveline of claim 1 , further comprising: an air compressor; and a motor configured to receive power from the energy storage system to drive the air compressor to facilitate providing the air supply to the clutch to disengage the clutch. 3. The driveline of claim 2 , further comprising an air tank, wherein the air tank is charged by the air compressor, and wherein the clutch receives the air supply from the air tank. 4. The driveline of claim 2 , wherein the clutch receives the air supply directly from the air compressor. 5. The driveline of claim 2 , wherein the air compressor is coupled to the engine and driven by the engine when the clutch is engaged. 6. The driveline of claim 2 , wherein the motor is coupled to the engine and driven by the engine when the clutch is engaged such that the motor is configured to function as a generator to generate electricity that is used to at least one of charge the energy storage system or power electrically-operated components of the military vehicle. 7. The driveline of claim 1 , wherein the clutch and the motor/generator are configured in a stacked arrangement. 8. The driveline of claim 1 , wherein the clutch is integrated into the motor/generator. 9. The driveline of claim 1 , wherein the motor/generator is configured to function as an engine starter and back-drive the engine to start the engine. 10. The driveline of claim 1 , wherein the electricity generated by the motor/generator is used to at least one of charge the energy storage system or power electrically-operated components of the military vehicle. 11. The driveline of claim 1 , wherein, if disengaged, the clutch is configured to automatically engage with the engine in response to an event of damage to the energy storage system or an air supply system that provides the air supply. 12. The military vehicle of claim 1 , wherein the motor/generator is configured to selectively receive power from the energy storage system to supplement the mechanical input received from the engine to provide an increased input to the transmission. 13. A driveline for a military vehicle, the driveline comprising: a first electromagnetic device configured to couple to a transmission; a clutch configured to selectively couple an engine to the first electromagnetic device; an air compressor; and a second electromagnetic device coupled to the air compressor; wherein: the clutch is spring-biased into engagement with the engine and pneumatically disengaged by an air supply selectively provided thereto; the second electromagnetic device is configured to receive power from an energy storage system to drive the air compressor to facilitate providing the air supply to the clutch to disengage the clutch; when the clutch is disengaged, the first electromagnetic device is configured to receive power from the energy storage system and provide a mechanical output to the transmission to drive the military vehicle; and when the clutch is engaged, the first electromagnetic device is configured to (a) selectively provide a mechanical output to the transmission to drive the military vehicle based on a mechanical input received from the engine and (b) selectively generate electricity based on the mechanical input. 14. The driveline of claim 13 , further comprising an air tank, wherein the air tank is charged by the air compressor, and wherein the clutch receives the air supply from the air tank. 15. The driveline of claim 13 , wherein the clutch receives the air supply directly from the air compressor. 16. The driveline of claim 13 , wherein the air compressor is coupled to the engine and driven by the engine when the clutch is engaged. 17. The driveline of claim 13 , wherein the clutch and the first electromagnetic device are configured in a stacked arrangement. 18. The driveline of claim 13 , wherein the clutch is integrated into the first electromagnetic device. 19. The driveline of claim 13 , wherein the second electromagnetic device is coupled to the engine and driven by the engine when the clutch is engaged such that the second electromagnetic device is configured to function as a generator to generate electricity that is used to at least one of charge the energy storage system or power electrically-operated components of the military vehicle. 20. A driveline for a military vehicle, the driveline comprising: a first electromagnetic device configured to couple to a transmission; a clutch configured to selectively couple an engine to the first electromagnetic device; an air compressor; a second electromagnetic device coupled to the air compressor; and an energy storage system coupled to the first electromagnetic device and the second electromagnetic device wherein: the clutch is spring-biased into engagement with the engine and pneumatically disengaged; when the clutch is disengaged, (i) the second electromagnetic device is configured to receive power from an energy storage system to drive the air compressor to facilitate providing an air supply to the clutch to disengage the clutch and (ii) the first electromagnetic device is configured to receive power from the energy storage system to drive the military vehicle through the transmission; and if disengaged, the clutch is configured to automatically engage with the engine in response to an event of damage preventing the air supply from being provided to the clutch such that the engine drives the military vehicle through the first electromagnetic device and the transmission.
