Official abstract text for this publication.
A sintered bearing includes, on an inner peripheral surface, a cylindrical portion and a one-side increased-diameter portion, which are provided so as to be continuous in the axial direction. An end portion of one side in the axial direction of the cylindrical portion and an end portion of another side in the axial direction of the increased-diameter portion coincide, and the cylindrical portion and the increased-diameter portion are molded by performing sizing on a sintered compact having a tubular shape, which is introduced into a die.

The invention claimed is: 1. A sintered bearing comprising, on an inner peripheral surface of the bearing, a cylindrical portion having a constant diameter and an increased-diameter portion having a diameter that gradually increases in a direction away from one side of the cylindrical portion in an axial direction of the sintered bearing, the increased-diameter portion being adjacent to the cylindrical portion on the one side in the axial direction, an end portion of the one side in the axial direction of the cylindrical portion and an end portion of another side in the axial direction of the increased-diameter portion coinciding, and the cylindrical portion and the increased-diameter portion being molded by performing sizing on a sintered compact having a tubular shape, which is introduced into a die, wherein a metal structure of the cylindrical portion has an expansion along a direction of ironing by a sizing core for sizing due to the cylindrical portion having a surface molded by ironing with the sizing core, wherein a metal structure of the increased-diameter portion has an expansion along a direction of ironing by the sizing core and a higher density than the metal structure of the cylindrical portion due to the increased-diameter portion having a surface compression-molded through ironing with the sizing core, and wherein a metal structure of an outer peripheral surface of the sintered bearing has an expansion along a direction of ironing by the die due to the outer peripheral surface being molded by ironing with the die.
