The invention claimed is: 1. A method comprising: receiving, at a payment server and via an application executing on a device associated with a first user, a request to create a payment proxy identifier, wherein the payment proxy identifier includes a currency indicator prefixing one or more alphanumeric characters; associating, by the payment server and in a data store maintained by the payment server, the payment proxy identifier with a financial account of the first user; generating, by the payment server, a personalized interactive element for initiating a transaction to the financial account of the first user, wherein the personalized interactive element is associated with the payment proxy identifier; receiving, by the payment server, an indication of an intent to transfer a value from a second user to the first user, wherein the indication is produced via an interaction with the personalized interactive element associated with the payment proxy identifier; and responsive to receiving the indication of the intent to transfer the value from the second user to the first user: identifying, by the payment server, a financial account of the second user; and initiating, by the payment server, a transfer of the value from the financial account of the second user to the financial account of the first user. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the personalized interactive element is a webpage with the payment proxy identifier in a uniform resource locator associated with the webpage. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the webpage with the payment proxy identifier in the uniform resource locator associated with the webpage is served to a device associated with the second user by a webserver associated with the payment server. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the payment proxy identifier associated with the financial account of the first user is individually distinguishable from other payment proxy identifiers of other users and enables the payment server to identify the financial account of the first user based on the payment proxy identifier and in lieu of payment data or other personal information of the first user. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the indication of the intent to transfer the value from the second user to the first user is produced via a device associated with the second user monitoring a real-time messaging platform including messages exchanged between the first user and the second user. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the indication of the intent to transfer the value from the second user to the first user is produced via a forum platform including content authored by at least the second user. 7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising identifying the financial account of the second user by: determining a payment proxy identifier associated with the second user; and retrieving the financial account of the second user from the data store maintained by the payment server using the payment proxy identifier associated with the second user. 8. The method of claim 7 , further comprising determining the payment proxy identifier associated with the second user by: receiving the payment proxy identifier associated with the second user with the indication of the intent to transfer the value; correlating a third-party identifier for the second user with the payment proxy identifier associated with the second user; or associating a device associated with the second user with the payment proxy identifier associated with the second user. 9. A payment server comprising: one or more processors; and one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media coupled to one or more of the processors and comprising instructions operable when executed by one or more of the processors to cause the payment server to perform operations comprising: receiving, at the payment server and via an application executing on a device associated with a first user, a request to create a payment proxy identifier, wherein the payment proxy identifier includes a currency indicator prefixing one or more alphanumeric characters; associating, by the payment server and in a data store maintained by the payment server, the payment proxy identifier with a financial account of the first user; generating, by the payment server, a personalized interactive element for initiating a transaction to the financial account of the first user, wherein the personalized interactive element is associated with the payment proxy identifier; receiving, by the payment server, an indication of an intent to transfer a value from a second user to the first user, wherein the indication is produced via an interaction with the personalized interactive element associated with the payment proxy identifier; and responsive to receiving the indication of the intent to transfer the value from the second user to the first user: identifying, by the payment server, a financial account of the second user; and initiating, by the payment server, a transfer of the value from the financial account of the second user to the financial account of the first user. 10. The payment server of claim 9 , wherein the personalized interactive element is a webpage with the payment proxy identifier in a uniform resource locator associated with the webpage. 11. The payment server of claim 10 , wherein the webpage with the payment proxy identifier in the uniform resource locator associated with the webpage is served to a device associated with the second user by a webserver associated with the payment server. 12. The payment server of claim 9 , wherein the payment proxy identifier associated with the financial account of the first user is individually distinguishable from other payment proxy identifiers of other users and enables the payment server to identify the financial account of the first user based on the payment proxy identifier and in lieu of payment data or other personal information of the first user. 13. The payment server of claim 9 , wherein the indication of the intent to transfer the value from the second user to the first user is produced via a device associated with the second user monitoring a real-time messaging platform including messages exchanged between the first user and the second user. 14. The payment server of claim 9 , wherein the indication of the intent to transfer the value from the second user to the first user is produced via a forum platform including content authored by at least the second user. 15. The payment server of claim 9 , wherein the instructions are further operable when executed by one or more of the processors to cause the payment server to perform operations further comprising identifying the financial account of the second user by: determining a payment proxy identifier associated with the second user; and retrieving the financial account of the second user from the data store maintained by the payment server using the payment proxy identifier associated with the second user. 16. The payment server of claim 15 , wherein the instructions are further operable when executed by one or more of the processors to cause the payment server to perform operations further comprising determining the payment proxy identifier associated with the second user by: receiving the payment proxy identifier associated with the second user with the indication of the intent to transfer the value; correlating a third-party identifier for the second user with the payment proxy identifier associated with the second user; or associating a device associated with the second user with the payment proxy identifier associated
