Certain types of fiber termination enclosures include an enclosure and at least one of a plurality of plate module mounting assemblies. Example plate module mounting assemblies include a termination panel plate assembly; a splice tray plate assembly; a cable spool plate assembly; and a drop-in plate assembly. Example cable spool plate assemblies include a cable spool arrangement rotationally coupled to a mounting plate, which fixedly mounts within the enclosure housing. A stand-off mount element may be disposed on the front of the cable spool arrangement to rotate in unison with the cable spool arrangement. The stand-off mount element may include one or more termination adapters.

The invention claimed is: 1. An enclosure system comprising: a main housing having opposite sidewalls extending between a first end and a second end and between a rear wall and a front to define an interior, the front of the housing defining a front opening providing access to the interior, the second end of the housing defining an aperture; a door pivotally mounted to the main housing to selectively cover the front opening; a plurality of cable port plate arrangements configured to be interchangeably mounted at the aperture at the second end of the housing, each of the cable port plate arrangements including a plate sized to cover the aperture when mounted to the second end of the housing, each plate carrying a different arrangement of one or more cable ports; and a plurality of subassemblies configured to be selectively and interchangeably mounted to the rear wall of the main housing through the front opening, the plurality of subassemblies including: a first subassembly including a rotatable spool that rotates relative to the main housing when mounted therein to allow a cable to be paid off from the spool; and a second subassembly including a plurality of optical adapters disposed in a row, the adapters being stationary relative to the second subassembly. 2. The enclosure system of claim 1 , wherein each of the subassemblies includes a mounting plate configured to be mounted to the rear wall of the main housing. 3. The enclosure system of claim 2 , wherein the mounting plates are configured to be fastened to the rear wall with a plurality of fasteners. 4. The enclosure system of claim 2 , wherein the mounting plates include a mounting structure configured to be press-fit into fasteners disposed at the rear wall. 5. The enclosure system of claim 1 , wherein at least some of the subassemblies are sized to each extend over a majority of an area of the rear wall. 6. The enclosure system of claim 1 , wherein at least some of the subassemblies are sized to both be mounted to the rear wall adjacent each other. 7. The enclosure system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of subassemblies includes a third subassembly including a splice holder. 8. The enclosure system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of cable port arrangements includes a first cable port arrangement carrying a first type of grommet and a second cable port arrangement carrying a second type of grommet that is larger than the first type of grommet. 9. The enclosure system of claim 8 , wherein the first cable port arrangement also includes the second type of grommet. 10. The enclosure system of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of cable port arrangements is configured to be removably fastened to the main housing at the aperture. 11. The enclosure system of claim 1 , wherein the aperture is one of a plurality of apertures, and wherein a respective cable port arrangement is mounted at each aperture. 12. The enclosure system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the subassemblies carries an optical splitter. 13. The enclosure system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the subassemblies includes components configured to be slid between retracted positions adjacent the rear wall and extended positions away from the rear wall. 14. The enclosure system of claim 13 , wherein the components include optical adapters. 15. The enclosure system of claim 1 , wherein the main housing and the door both include locking flanges configured to be secured together to lock the enclosure system. 16. The enclosure system of claim 1 , further comprising a security cover configured to be disposed within the main housing to inhibit access to optical components disposed within the main housing. 17. The enclosure system of claim 1 , wherein the second end of the main housing is a bottom of the main housing when the main housing is mounted to a wall. 18. The enclosure system of claim 2 , wherein the spool of the first subassembly extends across a majority of a width of the mounting plate. 19. The enclosure system of claim 1 , wherein the spool of the first subassembly includes a manual lock. 20. The enclosure of claim 1 , wherein one of the subassemblies carries an optical cable having multiple optical fibers, the optical fibers extending between opposite first and second ends, the first ends of the fibers being terminated at a multi-fiber optical plug connector, the second ends of the fibers being terminated at respective single-fiber optical plug connectors received at ports of optical adapters.
