What is claimed is: 1. An air filter cartridge comprising: (a) a filter media pack having a first flow face and a second, opposite, flow face, wherein: (i) the filter media pack includes filter media arranged between the first flow face and the second, opposite, flow face; (ii) the filter media pack having a rectangular cross-sectional shape, in a direction perpendicular to a central flow axis extending between the first flow face and the second, opposite, flow face; and (iii) the filter media pack comprising four sides extending between the first flow face and the second, opposite, flow face, wherein the four sides include a first pair of first and second opposite sides, and a second pair of first and second opposite sides; (b) a preform extending around the filter media pack, wherein the preform comprises a flange projecting outwardly from a remaining portion of the preform, and wherein the flange is integral with the preform; (c) a housing seal arrangement comprising a seal member located on the flange of the preform, and comprising an axial pinch seal, in use; and (d) a first member of a projection/receiver arrangement located on opposite ends of the air filter cartridge, the first member of the projection/receiver arrangement comprising a first side and a second side constructed to engage an air cleaner housing when the air filter cartridge is installed therein, wherein the first side and the second side extend at a converging angle. 2. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the preform is adhered to the filter media pack along the second pair of first and second opposite sides of the filter media pack. 3. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the first side and the second side of the first member of the projection/receiver arrangement extend at an angle to each other that is 25 degrees to 60 degrees, inclusive. 4. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the housing seal arrangement includes a portion located around the filter media. 5. An air filter cartridge according to claim 4 wherein: (a) the housing seal arrangement includes a portion located beyond the first flow face in a direction away from the second flow face. 6. An air filter cartridge according to claim 4 wherein: (a) the seal member comprises a lip seal. 7. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the first member of the projection/receiver arrangement is part of the preform. 8. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 further comprising: (a) end pieces molded in place on the first pair of first and second opposite sides of the filter media pack. 9. An air filter cartridge according to claim 8 wherein: (a) the second pair of first and second sides of the filter media pack are at least partially not covered by the molded end pieces. 10. An air filter cartridge according to claim 8 wherein: (a) the second pair of first and second sides of the filter media pack are at least 50% not covered by the molded end pieces. 11. An air filter cartridge according to claim 8 wherein: (a) the end pieces are spaced apart from each other. 12. An air filter cartridge according to claim 8 further comprising: (a) protective panels covering the second pair of first and second sides of the filter media pack, wherein the protective panels are held in place by the molded end pieces. 13. An air filter cartridge according to claim 12 wherein: (a) the protective panels comprise cardboard panels or plastic panels. 14. An air filter cartridge according to claim 8 wherein: (a) the end pieces seal the first pair of first and second opposite sides of the filter media pack. 15. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 further comprising: (a) protective panels covering the second pair of first and second sides of the filter media pack. 16. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the media pack is a slanted, stacked, media pack. 17. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the media pack is a blocked, stacked, media pack. 18. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the filter media pack comprises alternating fluted media and facing media. 19. An air filter cartridge according to claim 18 wherein: (a) the alternating fluted media and facing media are secured to each other. 20. An air filter cartridge according to claim 19 wherein: (a) the alternating fluted media and facing media secured to each other comprises a stack of alternating strips of a fluted media sheet secured to a facing media sheet. 21. An air filter cartridge according to claim 18 wherein: (a) the filter media pack comprising alternating fluted media and facing media comprises flutes extending parallel to the central flow axis. 22. An air filter cartridge according to claim 21 wherein: (a) at least a portion of the flutes do not extend a complete distance between the first flow face and the second flow face. 23. An air filter cartridge according to claim 22 wherein: (a) at least a portion of the flutes are closed prior to one of the first flow face and the second flow face. 24. An air filter cartridge according to claim 23 wherein: (a) the flutes closed prior to one of the first flow face and the second flow face are closed by folding the flutes closed. 25. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the housing seal arrangement is molded in place on the flange of the preform. 26.
