What is claimed is: 1. A wound dressing, comprising: an absorbent layer, comprising: a first dimension and a second dimension, the second dimension perpendicular to the first dimension, a plurality of first apertures, each first aperture comprising a first slit extending parallel to the first dimension, and a plurality of second slits extending parallel to the second dimension, the second slits intersecting with the first slit, and a second aperture, the second aperture comprising a third slit extending parallel to the second dimension, and a plurality of fourth slits extending parallel to the first dimension, the third slit intersecting with the fourth slits. 2. The wound dressing of claim 1 , wherein the absorbent layer comprises fibers. 3. The wound dressing of claim 1 , wherein the absorbent layer comprises a plurality of second apertures. 4. The wound dressing of claim 1 , wherein the absorbent layer comprises a plurality of first apertures and a plurality of second apertures. 5. The wound dressing of claim 4 wherein the first apertures and the second apertures are arranged in a row with alternating first apertures and second apertures. 6. The wound dressing of claim 1 , wherein the absorbent layer further comprises a third aperture comprising a fifth slit. 7. The wound dressing of claim 6 , wherein the absorbent layer comprises a plurality of third apertures. 8. A wound pad comprising fibers, the wound pad provided with a plurality of first discrete groups of incisions and a plurality of second discrete groups of incisions, each first group of incisions completely separated from each second group of incisions and extending from an upper surface to a bottom surface of the wound pad, wherein each one of the first and the second discrete groups of incisions comprise a first incision intersecting with a second incision, the first incision extending at an angle from the second incision to a first end point, the second incision extending to a second end point, the first end point spaced from the second end point, wherein a portion of each first discrete group of incisions extends in a first direction across a plane extending in a perpendicular direction from the surface of the wound pad and in a machine direction of the wound pad, and a portion of each second discrete group of incisions extends in a second direction across the plane. 9. The wound pad of claim 8 , wherein the first discrete group of incisions comprises a first common starting point and the second discrete group of incisions comprises a second common starting point. 10. The wound pad of claim 9 , wherein the first common starting point is provided on a first side of the plane and wherein the second common starting point is provided on a second side of the plane. 11. The wound pad of claim 8 , wherein a first group of incisions has the same shape as a second group of incisions. 12. The wound pad of claim 8 , wherein a first group of incisions has the same orientation as a second group of incisions. 13. The wound pad of claim 8 , wherein the wound pad comprises a plurality of a second group of incisions. 14. The wound pad of claim 13 , wherein a first and a second group of incisions are arranged in a row. 15. The wound pad of claim 14 , wherein a first group of incisions alternate with a second group of incisions. 16. The wound pad of claim 13 , wherein each second group of incisions is completely separated from one another. 17. The wound pad of claim 13 , wherein each second group of incisions further comprises a third incision. 18. The wound pad of claim 8 , further comprising an adhesive. 19. The wound pad of claim 8 , wherein each first group of incisions is completely separated from one another. 20. The wound pad of claim 8 , wherein each first group of incisions further comprises a third incision.
