A method for pairing a dialysis machine with peripheral devices is disclosed. An example method includes receiving, in an intermediate data transfer unit, data related to a patient from at least one of a weight sensor, a blood pressure sensor, or a remote exchange device. The method also includes causing the intermediate data transfer unit to detect a connection of a memory device to a port of the intermediate data transfer unit, and causing the intermediate data transfer unit to store the data to the memory device so that the memory device can be transported to a dialysis machine for transfer of the data from the memory device to the dialysis machine.

The invention is claimed as follows: 1. A dialysis data storage method comprising: receiving, in a data transfer unit, data related to a patient from at least one of a weight sensor, a blood pressure sensor, or a remote exchange device; detecting, via the data transfer unit, a connection of a memory device to a port of the data transfer unit; storing, via the data transfer unit, the data in the connected memory device for transporting the data to a dialysis machine via the memory device; erasing, via the data transfer unit, the data for the patient after an input device is pressed; and enabling accepting of new data after the data stored in the data transfer unit is erased. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the memory device is a first memory device, the patient is a first patient, and the dialysis machine is a first dialysis machine, the method further comprising: receiving, in the data transfer unit, data related to a second patient from the at least one of the weight sensor, the blood pressure sensor, or the remote exchange device; detecting, via the data transfer unit, a connection of a second memory device to the port of the data transfer unit; and storing, via the data transfer unit, the data related to the second patient in the second memory device. 3. The method of claim 1 , which includes receiving the data wirelessly in the data transfer unit from the at least one of the weight sensor, the blood pressure sensor, or the remote exchange device. 4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising pairing the data transfer unit with the at least one of the weight sensor, the blood pressure sensor, or the remote exchange device before communicating the data related to the patient. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein pairing the data transfer unit with the at least one of the weight sensor, the blood pressure sensor, or the remote exchange device includes: receiving at the data transfer unit at least one of an address or security identification number of the at least one of the weight sensor, the blood pressure sensor, or the remote exchange device; and storing, in a memory of the data transfer unit, the at least one of the address or security identification number of the at least one of the weight sensor, the blood pressure sensor, or the remote exchange device. 6. The method of claim 5 , wherein pairing the data transfer unit with the at least one of the weight sensor, the blood pressure sensor, or the remote exchange device includes causing the at least one of the weight sensor, the blood pressure sensor, or the remote exchange device to store to a local memory, of the respective weight sensor, the blood pressure sensor, or the remote exchange device, at least one of an address or a security identification number of the data transfer unit. 7. The method of claim 4 , further comprising placing the data transfer unit into a wireless discoverable mode for pairing with the at least one of the weight sensor, the blood pressure sensor, or the remote exchange device. 8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving additional data in the data transfer unit from at least one of (i) a temperature sensor, (ii) a bioimpedance sensor, or (iii) a glucose monitor. 9. The method claim 1 , wherein the memory device is associated with a username and password, the method further comprising: prompting, via the data transfer unit, a user for the username and password; receiving in the data transfer unit the username and password from the user; and conditioned upon the username and password from the user matching the username and password associated with the memory device, storing, via the data transfer unit, the data in the memory device. 10. The method claim 1 , wherein the patient is a first patient, the method further comprising: receiving an input in the data transfer unit indicating that the data is to be erased; erasing, via the data transfer unit, the data related to the first patient stored in the data transfer unit after receiving the input; and enabling reception, in the data transfer unit, of data related to a second patient from at least one of the weight sensor, the blood pressure sensor, or the remote exchange device. 11. The method claim 1 , further comprising receiving the new data in the data transfer unit. 12. The method claim 1 , further comprising enabling accepting of the new data after detecting removal of the memory device from the port of the data transfer unit. 13. The method of claim 1 , wherein erasing the data enables the data transfer unit to receive the new data from the at least one of the weight sensor, the blood pressure sensor, or the remote exchange device for a second patient. 14. The method of claim 1 , further comprising preventing the data transfer unit from receiving the new data for a second patient until after the data for the patient is erased. 15. A dialysis data storage method comprising: receiving, in a data transfer unit, data related to a patient from at least one of a weight sensor or a blood pressure sensor; detecting, via the data transfer unit, a connection of a memory device to a port of the data transfer unit; storing, via the data transfer unit, the data in the memory device for transporting the data to a dialysis machine via the memory device; and after the memory device is removed from the port, causing the dialysis machine to detect a connection of the memory device to a device port of the dialysis machine; causing the connected memory device to communicate the data to the dialysis machine via the memory device detecting that an input device of the data transfer unit has been pressed; and erasing the data for the patient in the data transfer unit after making the detection of the input device having been pressed. 16. The method of claim 15 , further comprising receiving, in the data transfer unit, ultrafiltration data from a remote exchange device; and causing the data transfer unit to store the ultrafiltration data to the memory device after the memory device is connected to the data transfer unit such that the ultrafiltration data is communicated to the dialysis machine when the memory device is moved from the data transfer unit to the device port of the dialysis machine. 17. The method of claim 15 , wherein the port of the data transfer unit is configured to be connected to the memory device being of a type selected from a flash drive and a universal serial bus (“USB”) drive. 18. The method of claim 15 , further comprising: detecting removal of the memory device from the port of the data transfer unit; and enabling reception, in the data transfer unit, of data related to a second patient from the at least one of the weight sensor or the blood pressure sensor. 19. The method of claim 15 , further comprising: after erasing the data, receiving second data from the at least one of the weight sensor or the blood pressure sensor for a second patient; detecting, via the data transfer unit, a connection of a second memory device to the port of the data transfer unit; and storing, via the data transfer unit, the second data in the second memory device for transporting the second data to a second dialysis machine via the second memory device. 20. The method of claim 15 , further comprising: after erasing the data, receiving second data from the at least one of the weight sensor or the blood pressure sensor for a second patient; detecting, via the data transfer unit, a connection of the memory device to the port of the data transfer unit;
