An exemplary compounding method of controlling a compounding device to prepare an admixture of at least two distinct material sources can include examining material source solutions for incompatibility of the ingredients and operating a first and a second pump to prevent one of the incompatible source solutions from entering a common flow path. The processing method can detect degradation of a fluid line by evaluating one or more of calibration error rate data, cumulative volumetric flow data, or cumulative pump operation data. The processing method can also selectively transfer a first group of source solutions using the first pump, receiving pump data from one or more sensors that sense actions of the pumps, applying fluid correction factors and calculating discrete pump movements, the pump movements being indicative of an amount of source solution displacement by a pump, and operating the pumps to selectively dispense the source solution amounts according to a preparation order.

What is claimed is: 1. A compounding apparatus for facilitating formation of an admixture by mixing at least three materials selected among multiple distinct materials, the compounding apparatus being usable with an admixture container that is configured to contain the admixture, and also being usable with multiple material containers that are each configured to contain one of the at least three materials, the compounding apparatus comprising: a delivery device that is configured to deliver the at least three selected materials from the material containers to the admixture container to facilitate formation of the admixture, the delivery device including a first pump and a second pump as well as a first line and a second line, the first pump being configured such that actuation thereof delivers a selected first of the at least three materials from its associated material container to the admixture container via the first line, the second pump being configured such that actuation thereof delivers a selected second material and third material of the at least three materials from a second material container and a third material container, respectively, to the admixture container via the second line; and a processor including a memory that is configured to store admixture data representing amounts of the at least three selected materials required to form the admixture, and line supply data that identifies either the first line or the second line as being appropriate to supply each of the at least three selected materials, the processor also including a controller that is configured to selectively actuate the first pump and second pump to supply the amounts of the at least three selected materials to the admixture container so as to facilitate formation of the admixture, the controller also being configured to selectively actuate the first pump and second pump so as to supply each of the at least three selected materials via the identified first line or second line, wherein the memory includes flow rate factor data associated with each of the distinct materials, and the processor is configured to apply a flow rate factor to calculate angular displacement required by one of the first pump and second pump for delivering an appropriate amount of a selected one of the at least three materials to the admixture container. 2. The compounding apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to identify either the first line or the second line as being appropriate to supply one material of the at least three selected materials based on a volume of the one material to be supplied. 3. The compounding apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to identify either the first line or the second line as being appropriate to supply one material of the at least three selected materials based on type of material to be supplied. 4. The compounding apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to identify either the first line or the second line as being appropriate to supply one material of the at least three selected materials based on availability of the one material to be supplied. 5. The compounding apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first line is a macro line and includes at least one macro tube, and the second line is a micro line and includes at least one micro tube having a cross-sectional diameter that is smaller than a cross-sectional diameter of the at least one macro tube. 6. The compounding apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the micro line includes at least one macro tube and at least one micro tube. 7. The compounding apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to actuate the second pump to sequentially deliver the second material and third material to the admixture container via the second line. 8. A compounding apparatus for facilitating formation of an admixture that involves mixing at least two materials selected among multiple distinct materials, one material of the multiple distinct materials being incompatible with another material of the multiple distinct materials, the compounding apparatus being usable with an admixture container that is configured to contain the admixture, and also being usable with multiple material containers that are each configured to contain one of the materials, the compounding apparatus comprising: a delivery device that is configured to deliver the at least two selected materials from the material containers to the admixture container to facilitate formation of the admixture, the delivery device including first and second pumps, the first pump being configured such that actuation thereof delivers a selected one of the at least two materials from its associated material container to the admixture container, the second pump being configured such that actuation thereof delivers a selected other of the at least two materials from its associated material container to the admixture container; and a processor including a memory that is configured to store admixture data representing amounts of the at least two selected materials required to form the admixture, and incompatibility data identifying the one material that is incompatible with the other material, the processor also including a controller that is configured to selectively actuate the first and second pumps to supply the amounts of the at least two selected materials to the admixture container pursuant to the stored admixture data so as to facilitate formation of the admixture, the controller also being configured to prevent delivery of the at least two selected materials if the one material and other material that are incompatible with each other are both included in the at least two selected materials, wherein the controller prevents delivery of the at least two selected materials by causing one of the first pump and the second pump to deliver a third material of the multiple distinct materials to the admixture container. 9. The compounding apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the processor is configured to prevent simultaneous or immediately sequential delivery of the one material and the other material that are incompatible with each other to the admixture container. 10. The compounding apparatus of claim 8 , wherein, if the one material and other material that are incompatible with each other are both included in the at least two selected materials, the processor is configured to select the third material for the one material or the other material, and to selectively actuate one of the first and second pumps to supply the third material to the admixture container. 11. The compounding apparatus of claim 8 , wherein, if the one material and the other material that are incompatible with each other are both included in the at least two selected materials, the processor is configured to selectively actuate one of the first and second pumps to supply a selected one diluting material that is the third material to the admixture container so as to dilute the one material or the other material. 12. The compounding apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the processor is configured to supply the selected one diluting material to the admixture container after the one incompatible material has been supplied to the admixture container, and prior to the other incompatible material is supplied to the admixture container. 13.
