Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A polymer laminate has 2-100 layers each containing a biodegradable resin and having a thickness of 10 nm-400 nm that are laminated, the thickness of at least one of the outermost layers is 10 nm-180 nm, and the outermost layers are joined to each other. A polymer laminate excellent in biocompatibility and mechanical strength and suitable to medical applications such as wound dressings and antiadhesive materials can be obtained.

The invention claimed is: 1. A polymer laminate, comprising: 2-100 layers each containing a biodegradable resin and having a thickness of 10 nm-400 nm, a thickness of at least one of outermost layers is 10 nm-180 nm, and a joint portion joining said outermost layers at pinpoints, at a part of an end portion of the laminate, at an entire part of the end portion of the laminate, or combinations thereof, wherein layers other than the outermost layers may be joined or may not be joined to the outermost layers, and said at least one of outermost layers contains a polylactic acid-based resin. 2. The polymer laminate according to claim 1 , wherein at least one layer of said layers having a thickness of 10 nm-400 nm contains a compound selected from the group consisting of a polysaccharide, a polyvinyl alcohol and a polyvinyl alcohol copolymer. 3. The polymer laminate according to claim 2 , wherein said polysaccharide is an alginate. 4. The polymer laminate according to claim 1 , wherein a total thickness of the polymer laminate is 20 nm-1,000 nm. 5. The polymer laminate according to claim 1 , wherein a hydrophobic chemical is contained in at least one layer of said layers having a thickness of 10 nm-400 nm. 6. The polymer laminate according to claim 1 , wherein a water soluble chemical is contained in at least one layer of said layers having a thickness of 10 nm-400 nm. 7. The polymer laminate according to claim 1 , wherein particles having a particle diameter of 5 nm to 5,000 nm are contained in at least one interlaminar part formed between said layers having a thickness of 10 nm-400 nm. 8. The polymer laminate according to claim 2 , wherein a total thickness of the polymer laminate is 20 nm-1,000 nm. 9. The polymer laminate according to claim 3 , wherein a total thickness of the polymer laminate is 20 nm-1,000 nm. 10. The polymer laminate according to claim 2 , wherein a hydrophobic chemical is contained in at least one layer of said layers having a thickness of 10 nm-400 nm. 11. The polymer laminate according to claim 3 , wherein a hydrophobic chemical is contained in at least one layer of said layers having a thickness of 10 nm-400 nm. 12. The polymer laminate according to claim 4 , wherein a hydrophobic chemical is contained in at least one layer of said layers having a thickness of 10 nm-400 nm. 13. The polymer laminate according to claim 2 , wherein a water soluble chemical is contained in at least one layer of said layers having a thickness of 10 nm-400 nm. 14. The polymer laminate according to claim 3 , wherein a water soluble chemical is contained in at least one layer of said layers having a thickness of 10 nm-400 nm. 15. The polymer laminate according to claim 4 , wherein a water soluble chemical is contained in at least one layer of said layers having a thickness of 10 nm-400 nm.
