A compound represented by the general formula (1) is useful as a light emitting material. In the general formula (1), Ar 1 to Ar 3 represent an aryl group, provided that Ar 2 and Ar 3 are the same as each other, and at least one of Ar 1 to Ar 3 represents an aryl group substituted with a group represented by the general formula (2). In the general formula (2), R 1 to R 8 represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent; Z represents O, S, R 9 —N, (R 10 ) (R 11 )C, or (R 12 ) (R 13 )Si; and R 9 to R 13 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent.

The invention claimed is: 1. An organic light emitting device comprising a substrate having thereon a light emitting layer containing a compound represented by the following general formula (1): wherein in the general formula (1), Ar 1 represents an unsubstituted aryl group, Ar 2 and Ar 3 are the same as each other and represent an aryl group substituted with a group represented by the following general formula (2): wherein in the general formula (2), R 1 to R 8 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent; Z represents O, S, or R 9 —N; and R 9 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent, provided that R 1 and R 2 , R 2 and R 3 , R 3 and R 4 , R 5 and R 6 , R 6 and R 7 , and R 7 and R 8 each may be bonded to each other to form a cyclic structure, provided that the compound emits light. 2. The organic light emitting device according to claim 1 , wherein the organic light emitting device emits delayed fluorescent light. 3. The organic light emitting device according to claim 1 , wherein the organic light emitting device is an organic electroluminescent device. 4. The organic light emitting device according to claim 1 , wherein the compound is contained in the light emitting layer in an amount of 10% by weight or less. 5. The organic light emitting device according to claim 1 , wherein the light emitting layer consists of the compound. 6. The organic light emitting device according to claim 1 , wherein the light emitting layer contains the compound and a host material.
