Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Disclosed herein are embodiments of an enhanced resonant frequency hexagonal ferrite material and methods of manufacturing. The hexagonal ferrite material can be Y-phase hexagonal ferrite material, such as those including strontium. In some embodiments, oxides consistent with the stoichiometry of Sr 3 Co 2 Fe 24 O 41 , SrFe 12 O 19 or CoFe 2 O 4 can be used form an enhanced hexagonal ferrite material.

What is claimed is: 1. An enhanced hexagonal ferrite having increased magnetic properties, the enhanced hexagonal ferrite comprising: a y-phase hexagonal ferrite material, the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material having about 2 weight percent of CoFe 2 O 4 or SrFe 12 O 19 into the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material incorporated within. 2. The hexagonal ferrite of claim 1 wherein the Y-phase hexagonal ferrite material includes Sr 1.6 Na 0.4 Co 1.6 Sc 0.4 Fe 11 O 22 . 3. The hexagonal ferrite of claim 1 wherein CoFe 2 O 4 is incorporated into the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material as a separate phase from the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material. 4. The hexagonal ferrite of claim 1 wherein CoFe 2 O 4 or SrFe 12 O 19 is incorporated into the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material at two weight percent. 5. The hexagonal ferrite of claim 1 wherein SrFe 12 O 19 is incorporated into the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material as a separate phase from the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material. 6. A radiofrequency antenna for use in high frequency applications comprising: a y-phase hexagonal ferrite material, the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material having about 2 weight percent of CoFe 2 O 4 or SrFe 12 O 19 into the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material incorporated within to form an enhanced hexagonal ferrite material. 7. The radiofrequency antenna of claim 6 wherein the Y-phase hexagonal ferrite material includes Sr 1.6 Na 0.4 Co 1.6 Sc 0.4 Fe 11 O 22 . 8. The radiofrequency antenna of claim 6 wherein CoFe 2 O 4 is incorporated into the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material as a separate phase from the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material. 9. The radiofrequency antenna of claim 6 wherein the CoFe 2 O 4 or the SrFe 12 O 19 is incorporated into the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material at a weight percent of two. 10. The radiofrequency antenna of claim 6 wherein SrFe 12 O 19 is incorporated into the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material as a separate phase from the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material. 11. A radiofrequency device incorporating the hexagonal ferrite of claim 1 . 12. A radiofrequency device incorporating the antenna of claim 6 . 13. The radiofrequency device of claim 12 , wherein the radiofrequency device is a power amplifier. 14. A circulator comprising a y-phase hexagonal ferrite material, the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material having about 2 weight percent of CoFe 2 O 4 or SrFe 12 O 19 into the y-phase hexagonal ferrite material incorporated within to form an enhanced hexagonal ferrite material. 15. The circulator of claim 14 wherein the Y-phase hexagonal ferrite material includes Sr 1.6 Na 0.4 Co 1.6 Sc 0.4 Fe 11 O 22 . 16.
