Official abstract text for this publication.
An example renal therapy system includes a blood pressure monitor configured to output blood pressure data concerning a patient and a renal therapy machine communicatively coupled to the blood pressure monitor. The renal therapy machine is configured to generate ultrafiltration (“UF”) removed data from a prescribed renal therapy treatment performed by the renal therapy machine on the patient, and transmit the UF removed data and the blood pressure data via a network. At least one of a UF trend or a blood pressure trend from the UF removed data or the blood pressure data is determined, enabling a further determination as to at least one of (a) whether a prescribed renal therapy treatment adjustment or a new prescribed renal therapy treatment needs to be made, (b) whether the patient is complying with the prescribed renal therapy treatment, or (c) whether a condition related to an alarm or an alert exists.

The invention is claimed as follows: 1. A renal therapy system comprising: a renal therapy machine configured to perform a dialysis treatment on a patient according to a prescription, generate ultrafiltration (“UF”) removed data over the dialysis treatment performed by the renal therapy machine, and transmit the UF removed data; a receiver coded with at least one of an address or a personal identification number (“PIN”), the receiver configured to receive blood pressure data from a blood pressure monitor over a frequency, data rate, or communication protocol, the blood pressure monitor located external to the renal therapy machine, receive the UF removed data from the renal therapy machine, and transmit the blood pressure data and the UF removed data via a network; and a server communicatively coupled to the receiver via the network, the server configured to determine at least one of a UF trend or a blood pressure trend from at least one of the UF removed data or the blood pressure data, and display information indicative of the at least one of the UF trend or the blood pressure trend, wherein the at least one coded address or PIN is provided with the blood pressure data that is sent to the receiver, and wherein the receiver is configured to compare the at least one coded address or PIN to the coded address or PIN provided with the blood pressure data to ensure that the blood pressure data is received and processed by the receiver as opposed to extraneous data received over the same frequency, data rate, or communication protocol from sources other than the blood pressure monitor, including devices in proximity of the renal therapy machine. 2. The renal therapy system of claim 1 , wherein the prescription is a first prescription, and the server is further configured to: access the at least one of the UF trend or the blood pressure trend to process at least one of (a) a generation of a plurality of regimens and filtration of one or more new second prescription from the regimens, or (b) a generation of a set of filter criteria for filtering a set of new second prescriptions; and transmit a message via the network related to at least one of (a) or (b). 3. The renal therapy system of claim 2 , wherein the receiver includes a display device and is further configured to: receive the message via the network related to the at least one of (a) or (b); and display the message, the message prompting input or action from a user concerning at least one of (a) or (b). 4. The renal therapy system of claim 3 , wherein the receiver is configured to receive at least one of the UF trend or the blood pressure trend from the server and the display device is configured to display the at least one of the UF trend or the blood pressure trend. 5. The renal therapy system of claim 1 , wherein the receiver is separate from the renal therapy machine. 6. The renal therapy system of claim 5 , wherein the receiver includes a display device and is configured to display the UF removed data and the blood pressure data. 7. The renal therapy system of claim 6 , wherein the display device is a display device of a cell phone or a computer. 8. The renal therapy system of claim 1 , wherein the receiver is included in the renal therapy machine. 9. The renal therapy system of claim 1 , wherein the renal therapy machine is configured to perform at least one of an automated peritoneal dialysis (“APD”) therapy treatment, a continuous cycling peritoneal dialysis (“CCPD”) therapy treatment, or a hi-dose CCPD therapy treatment. 10. The renal therapy system of claim 1 , wherein the receiver is configured for at least one of Bluetooth®, WiFi™, or Zigbee™. 11. A renal therapy system comprising: a blood pressure monitor configured to output blood pressure data concerning a patient before, during, or after a renal therapy treatment; a receiver coded with at least one of an address or a personal identification number (“PIN”), communicatively coupled to the blood pressure monitor, and configured to receive the blood pressure data outputted by the blood pressure monitor over a frequency, data rate, or communication protocol; and a renal therapy machine communicatively coupled to the receiver and configured to generate ultrafiltration (“UF”) removed data from the renal therapy treatment performed according to a prescription by the renal therapy machine, and output the UF removed data to the receiver, where the receiver is configured to determine at least one of a UF trend or a blood pressure trend from the UF removed data or the blood pressure data and transmit the UF removed data and the blood pressure data via a network that is located external to the renal therapy machine, wherein the at least one coded address or PIN is provided with the blood pressure data that is sent to the receiver, and wherein the receiver is configured to compare the at least one coded address or PIN to the coded address or PIN provided with the blood pressure data to ensure that the blood pressure data is received and processed by the receiver as opposed to extraneous data received over the same frequency, data rate, or communication protocol from sources other than the blood pressure monitor, including devices in proximity of the renal therapy machine. 12. The renal therapy system of claim 11 , wherein the blood pressure monitor is wirelessly coupled or wired to the receiver. 13. The renal therapy system of claim 11 , wherein the receiver is provided by the renal therapy machine. 14. The renal therapy system of claim 11 , wherein the receiver includes a display device configured to display at least one of the UF trend, the blood pressure trend, the UF removed data, or the blood pressure data. 15. The renal therapy system of claim 11 , further comprising a server communicatively coupled to the receiver via the network, the server configured to: receive at least one of the UF trend, the blood pressure trend, the UF removed data, or the blood pressure data from the receiver via the network; and display the at least one of the UF trend, the blood pressure trend, the UF removed data, or the blood pressure data. 16. The renal therapy system of claim 15 , wherein the prescription is a first prescription, and the server is further configured to: access the at least one of the UF trend, the blood pressure trend, the UF removed data, or the blood pressure data to process at least one of (a) a generation of a plurality of regimens and filtration of one or more new second prescription from the regimens, or (b) a generation of a set of filter criteria for filtering a set of new second prescriptions; and display a message related to at least one of (a) or (b). 17. A renal therapy system comprising: a receiver coded with at least one of an address or a personal identification number (“PIN”) and communicatively coupled to a blood pressure monitor that outputs blood pressure data concerning a patient, the receiver configured to receive the blood pressure data outputted by the blood pressure monitor over a frequency, data rate, or communication protocol; and a renal therapy machine communicatively coupled to the receiver and configured to generate ultrafiltration (“UF”) removed data from a prescribed renal therapy treatment performed by the renal therapy machine, and output the UF removed data to the receiver, where the receiver is configured to transmit the UF removed data and the blood pressure data via a network that is located external to the renal therapy machine, wherein the at least one coded address or PIN is provided w
