What is claimed is: 1. A method of providing a flying splice on a fibrous material, the method comprising: providing an adhesive tape comprising: an adhesive layer, a backing adjacent to the adhesive layer, and a non-adhesive mechanical fastener; contacting the adhesive layer to a leading edge of a top winding of a first roll of the fibrous material; fastening the non-adhesive mechanical fastener to a second from the top winding of the first roll of the fibrous material; contacting the adhesive layer with an unwinding second roll of the fibrous material without stopping or slowing the unwinding of the second roll of the fibrous material; and releasing the non-adhesive mechanical fastener from the second from the top winding of the first roll of the fibrous material; wherein the released non-adhesive mechanical fastener does not leave a residue on the second from the top winding of the first roll of the fibrous material. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the non-adhesive mechanical fastener comprises a shaped plastic. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the plastic of the shaped plastic is selected from the group consisting of nylons, polyesters, polyurethanes, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene and any combination thereof. 4. The method of claim 2 , wherein the shape of the shaped plastic is selected from the group consisting of a single-sided hook shape, a half-sphere capped shape, a branched tree shape, a double-sided hook shape, a sphere capped shape, an open-loop shape, an arrow shape, a triangle capped shape, and any combination thereof. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the fibrous material is selected from the group consisting of textiles, cloth, fabric, wool, silk, cotton, flax, jute, nylon, polyester, acrylic, fur, spunlaid materials, spun-melt materials, spun-melt-spun materials, rayon, polyethylene terephthalate fibers, polypropylene fibers, staple nonwovens, flashspun materials, air-laid paper, fibrillated materials, and any combination thereof. 6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising a leading edge liner and a contact side liner; wherein the leading edge liner and the contact side liner are adjacent to and covering at least a portion of the adhesive layer. 7. A method of providing a flying splice on a fibrous material, the method comprising: providing an adhesive tape comprising: a first adhesive layer, a second adhesive layer, a backing adjacent to the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer, and a non-adhesive mechanical fastener adjacent to the second adhesive layer; contacting the second adhesive layer to a leading edge of a top winding of a first roll of the fibrous material; fastening the non-adhesive mechanical fastener to a second from the top winding of the first roll of the fibrous material; contacting the first adhesive layer with an unwinding second roll of the fibrous material without stopping or slowing the unwinding of the second roll of the fibrous material; and releasing the non-adhesive mechanical fastener from the second from the top winding of the first roll of the fibrous material; wherein the released non-adhesive mechanical fastener does not leave a residue on the second from the top winding of the first roll of the fibrous material. 8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the non-adhesive mechanical fastener comprises a shaped plastic. 9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the plastic of the shaped plastic is selected from the group consisting of nylons, polyesters, polyurethanes, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, and any combination thereof. 10. The method of claim 8 , wherein the shape of the shaped plastic is selected from the group consisting of a single-sided hook shape, a half-sphere capped shape, a branched tree shape, a double-sided hook shape, a sphere capped shape, an open-loop shape, an arrow shape, a triangle capped shape, and any combination thereof. 11. The method of claim 7 , wherein the fibrous material is selected from the group consisting of textiles, cloth, fabric, wool, silk, cotton, flax, jute, nylon, polyester, acrylic, fur, spunlaid materials, spun-melt materials, spun-melt-spun materials, rayon, polyethylene terephthalate fibers, polypropylene fibers, staple nonwovens, flashspun materials, air-laid paper, fibrillated materials, and any combination thereof.
