What is claimed is: 1. An air filter cartridge comprising: (a) a conical media pack surrounding an open filter interior and having first and second ends; (b) a first end cap positioned on the media pack first end; (i) the first end cap having a central aperture therethrough; (c) a housing seal member positioned on the first end cap; (i) the housing seal member comprising a radially directed seal molded to the cartridge; and, (d) a second end cap on the media pack second end; the second end cap including an inner surface and an outer surface; (i) the outer surface including a receiving groove having inner and outer side walls extending toward the first end of the media pack; the outer sidewall being spaced at least 20 mm from the media, at an end of the receiving groove furthest toward the first end cap; (ii) the outer surface of the second end cap including an outwardly directed projection surrounded by the receiving groove; and, (iii) the inner surface of the second end cap including a central receiving projection projecting away from the first end cap; (A) the central receiving projection being surrounded by the receiving groove; and, (B) the central projection extending further away from the first end piece than the outer wall of the receiving groove. 2. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the receiving groove has two, opposite, serpentine sidewalls. 3. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the housing seal member is a radially inwardly directed seal member. 4. An air filter cartridge according to claim 3 wherein: (a) the receiver groove is such that a smallest internal dimension across a region surrounded by the receiver groove is within the range of 20-40 mm, inclusive. 5. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the receiving groove has width, along its depth of extension, of no more than 10 mm. 6. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the outer sidewall of the receiving groove is spaced at least 30 mm from the media. 7. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the inner surface of the second end cap includes a second receiver groove therein, surrounding the outer sidewall of the receiving groove that is in the outer surface of the second end cap. 8. An air filter cartridge according to claim 7 wherein: (a) the second receiver groove is at least 10 mm wide and no more than 40 mm wide. 9. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the first and second end caps each include molded-in-place portions; and, (b) the media pack includes a liner having a conical section surrounded by the media and having opposite ends respectively embedded in molded-in-place portions of the first and second end caps. 10. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the liner comprises an integral portion of a preform including an end extending across the open interior adjacent the media pack second end and including: the receiving groove; and, the outwardly directed projection. 11. An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the media pack has a conical angle of at least 1°. 12. An air filter cartridge comprising: (a) a conical media pack surrounding an open filter interior and having first and second ends; (b) a first end cap positioned on the media pack first end; (i) the first end cap having a central aperture therethrough; (c) a housing seal member positioned on the first end cap; (i) the housing seal member comprising a radially directed seal; and, (d) a second end cap on the media pack second end; the second end cap including an inner surface and an outer surface; (i) the outer surface defining a receiving groove having inner and outer side walls extending toward the first end; the outer sidewall of the receiving groove having a serpentine shape of radially facing, alternating, convex and concave portions; and, (ii) the inner surface including a central receiving projection projecting away from the first end cap and surrounded by the receiving groove. 13. An air filter cartridge according to claim 12 wherein: (a) the inner sidewall of the receiving groove to the outer surface of the second end cap, has a serpentine shape of radially facing, alternating, convex and concave portions. 14. An air filter cartridge according to claim 12 wherein: (a) the housing seal member is a radially inwardly directed seal. 15. An air filter cartridge according to claim 14 wherein: (a) the outer sidewall of the receiving groove is spaced at least 30 mm from the media. 16. An air filter cartridge according to claim 15 wherein: (a) the inner surface of the second end cap includes a second receiver groove therein, surrounding the outer sidewall of the receiving groove in the outer surface of the second end cap. 17. An air filter cartridge according to claim 16 wherein: (a) the second receiver groove is at least 10 mm wide and no more than 40 mm wide. 18. An air cleaner assembly comprising: (a) a housing defining an interior and having an air flow inlet and an air flow outlet; (i) the housing defining a service access end and a removable access cover positioned thereover; and, (ii) the access cover including a central projection thereon, extending into the housing interior from the access cover; (b) a central support projecting toward the access cover from an end of the housing opposite the access cover; (i) the central support having a first end remote from the end of the housing opposite the access cover; the first end of the central support including a receiving groove surrounding a central projection; the central projection extending toward the access cover; and, (c) an air filter cartridge removably positioned in the housing interior, the filter cartridge comprising: (i) a conical media pack surrounding an open filter interior and having first and second ends; (ii) a first end cap positioned on the media pack first end; (A) the first end cap having a central aperture therein; (iii) a housing seal member positioned on the first end cap; (A) the housing seal member comprising a radially inwardly projecting radial seal molded to the cartridge and removably sealed to the housing; and, (iv) a second end cap on the media pack second end; the second end cap including an inner surface and an outer surface; (A) the outer surface including a receiving groove having inner and outer side walls extending toward the first end; (B) the outer surface including an outwardly directed projection surrounded by the receiving groove; and, (C) the inner surface including a central receiving projection projecting away from the first end cap; (1) the central receiving projection being surrounded by the receiving groove in the outer surface of the second end cap; and, (2) the central projection extending further away from the first end cap than the outer wall of the receiving groove on the second end cap; (v) the air filter cartridge being positioned with: (A) the central projection on the access cover projecting into the receiving groove on the air filter cartridge; (B) the inner and outer sidewalls of the receiving groove on the air filter cartridge projecting into the receiving groove on the central support; and, (C) the central projection on the central support projecting into the central receiving projection on the inner surface of the first end cap. 19.
