What is claimed is: 1. A method for producing a pressure-sensitive adhesive polymeric composition, the method comprising: (a) providing a butyl rubber including one or more halogen atoms and one or more double bonds; (b) providing an olefinic polymer or copolymer; (c) providing a filler that includes titanium dioxide; (d) providing a phenolic resin having a plurality of hydroxyl groups; (e) mixing (a), (b), (c), and (d), and optionally, one or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of oils and tackifying resins, to allow the butyl rubber to react with the phenolic resin, to provide butyl rubber having at least one hydroxyl group; (f) providing an isocyanate; (g) mixing to allow the isocyanate to react with the at least one hydroxyl group of the butyl rubber, to form a butyl rubber having at least one urethane group; and (h) further mixing to allow the isocyanate to react with the phenolic resin, to form a polyurethane in the presence of the butyl rubber having at least one urethane group, the filler, and the olefinic polymer or copolymer. 2. A method for producing a pressure-sensitive adhesive polymeric composition, the method comprising: (a) charging a halogenated butyl rubber, an olefinic polymer or copolymer, an unfunctionalized phenolic resin, a filler that includes titanium dioxide, and optionally, one or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of oils, tackifying resins, and catalysts to a reaction extruder; (b) mixing to allow at least partial crosslinking of said halogenated butyl rubber, wherein said step of mixing optionally includes adding oil; (c) charging isocyanate; (d) optionally, charging one or more oil; and (e) mixing to form a phenolic resin-based polyurethane, wherein said phenolic resin-based polyurethane and said olefinic polymer or copolymer are dispersed within said at least partially crosslinked halogenated butyl rubber. 3. The method of claim 2 , where said pressure-sensitive adhesive polymeric composition comprises at least one oil. 4. The method of claim 2 , where said polyurethane and olefinic polymer or copolymer are discretely dispersed within said at least partially crosslinked halogenated butyl rubber at a temperature of up to about 37° C. 5. The method of claim 2 , where said pressure-sensitive adhesive polymeric composition comprises at least one tackifying resin. 6. The method of claim 1 , where said pressure-sensitive adhesive polymeric composition includes from about 1 to about 12 percent by weight filler, and further includes from about 1 to about 70 percent by weight tackifying resin, based upon the total weight of the composition. 7. The method of claim 1 , where said filler includes at least 75 percent by weight of titanium dioxide. 8. The method of claim 1 , where said olefinic polymer or copolymer includes a copolymer of propylene and another olefin. 9. The method of claim 1 , where said pressure-sensitive adhesive polymeric composition has a whiteness of at least an L value of 85. 10. The method of claim 1 , where said olefinic polymer or copolymer includes at least 80 percent by weight of propylene.
