Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Disclosed are methods, systems, and computer-readable media for tracking location of locking devices. One locking device includes a wireless transceiver, a memory, an electronically controllable locking mechanism, a processor, and a location determination circuit configured to determine a location of the electronic locking device. The processor is configured to receive one or more location data items indicating the location of the electronic locking device at one or more times, to store the one or more location data items in the memory, and to transmit the one or more location data items from the memory to a mobile device via the wireless transceiver.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A mobile device, comprising: one or more processors configured to: transmit an encrypted user profile to a first locking device, wherein the user profile is encrypted by a server using a secret key that is stored by the server and the first locking device, and wherein the first locking device is configured to verify the encrypted user profile using the secret key; generate a location data item in response to the mobile device interacting with the first locking device, the location data item having been generated by a location determination circuit of the mobile device and indicating a location of the first locking device at a respective time; store a plurality of location data items regarding one or more locking devices, the one or more locking devices including the first locking device, and the plurality of location data items including the generated location data item; obtain at least one of location parameters or time parameters from a user, the location parameters indicating one or more location areas for data to be included in a mapping interface, and the time parameters indicating one or more timeframes for the data to be included in the mapping interface; filter the plurality of location data items to include only location data items fulfilling the at least one of the location parameters or the time parameters when generating the mapping interface; and generate the mapping interface illustrating one or more locations of the one or more locking devices indicated by the plurality of location data items. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein generating the mapping interface comprises generating an indication of a last location of the one or more locking devices within the mapping interface. 3. A method comprising: transmitting, by a mobile device, an encrypted user profile to a first locking device, the encrypted user profile is encrypted by a server using a secret key that is stored by the server and the first locking device; decrypting, by the first locking device, the encrypted user profile using the secret key to generate a decrypted user profile; generating, by the mobile device in response to the mobile device interacting with the first locking device, a first location data item indicating a location of the first locking device and having a first associated timestamp; storing, by the mobile device, a plurality of location data items and associated timestamps regarding one or more locking devices, the one or more locking devices including the first locking device, and the plurality of location data items and associated timestamps including the first location data item and the first associated timestamp; generating, by the mobile device, a mapping interface illustrating locations of the one or more locking devices indicated by the plurality of the location data items; obtaining at least one of location parameters or time parameters from a user, the location parameters indicating one or more location areas for data to be included in the mapping interface, and the time parameters indicating one or more timeframes for the data to be included in the mapping interface; and filtering the plurality of the location data items to include only location data items fulfilling the at least one of the location parameters or the time parameters when generating the mapping interface. 4. The method of claim 3 , wherein generating the mapping interface comprises generating an indication of a last location of the one or more locking devices within the mapping interface. 5. The method of claim 3 , wherein verifying the decrypted user profile comprises validating a message authentication code (MAC) based on the secret key and the user profile. 6. The method of claim 3 , further comprising: transmitting, by the mobile device, a time maintained of the mobile device to the first locking device; and verifying, by the first locking device, the time by comparing the time maintained by the mobile device to a time maintained by the first locking device. 7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising comparing, by the first locking device, an access schedule of the decrypted user profile to the time maintained by the first locking device, wherein the access schedule specifies a time when the mobile device may access the first locking device. 8. The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to (i) obtain the location parameters and the time parameters from the user and (ii) filter the plurality of location data items to include only location data items fulfilling the location parameters and the time parameters when generating the mapping interface. 9. A lock location tracking system, comprising: a server including a processor and a memory, the processor configured to: receive a plurality of location data items and associated timestamps from at least one portable user device, the plurality of location data items and the associated timestamps having been generated by the at least one portable device in response to the at least one portable user device interacting with at least one locking device one or more times, wherein each location data item and associated timestamp indicates a location of a respective locking device at a respective time; receive location parameters and time parameters from a user via a respective one of the at least one portable user device, the location parameters indicating one or more location areas for data to be included in a mapping interface, and the time parameters indicating one or more timeframes for the data to be included in the mapping interface; filter the plurality of location data items to include only location data items fulfilling the location parameters and the time parameters; generate the mapping interface based on the location data items that fulfill the location parameters and the time parameters; and transmit the mapping interface to the respective one of the at least one portable user device for display thereon. 10. The lock location tracking system of claim 9 , further comprising: a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by a second processor of a portable user device, cause the second processor to: generate, in response to the portable user device interacting with a respective locking device, a location data item having an associated timestamp; and transmit the location data item and the associated timestamp to the server.
